I would just text (or call) a few days later asking to see how she's feeling. If she was actually sick she probably didn't feel like texting and might not have been all there.

Just wait and see where it goes. Follow up though, that way she'll know you remember her.

I'd ask her out straight. "Do you think you'll be in enough good shape tomorrow night to have a drink with me at (insert cool calm place to have a drink and talk)? We'll go easy on the drinking part since you don't seem like you can take it much :P"

Texting is not for conversation, and the perceived awkwardness you're feeling is why. If you want to ask her to hang out, then ask her, otherwise I would drop the texts.

You could of followed up with something like this:

"You have been a bad girl...no wonder you got sick :P"

If you built enough rapport, try and tease her as much as you can while keeping the joking vibe.
