Exams are done, my class is in a party mood, and its my friends birthday. I get ready, try to get into state, grab my friend and head to the pre-party at the bday girl's house. HB6 from class starts texting me over, and over and over again. I'm not interested, she won't get the message.

We arrive at pre-party 20 minutes late and its still just the bday girl and her roommates. Then people started rolling in, most of them from my class. Then this Russian HB8.5 comes in. I immediately wanted to approach but didn't have an opportunity because of where we were both sitting (or I simply didn't man up). Bday girl introduces us and we say hi from across a huge table. I'm still hanging out, trying to have fun, the HB6 keeps texting me. Every once and a while I look over to the Russian girl and I catch her staring at me, so I'm thinking I have a chance. Asian girl arrives at the party, sits right next to me and grabs my arm. Russian girl sees this and looks away. FUCK.

We all start heading towards the club. I see the Russian girl sitting by herself, feeling awkward because she knows no one there (we had our own room, big party). So I approach, I smile, say hey and ask her how she knows the bday girl. Everything seems to be going ok, we're talking, not really getting any IOIs from Russian chick (or I simply suck at picking them up) when all of a sudden the Asian girl comes and literally pulls me away to dance. Russian girl just walked away. At this point i'm like fuck it, and I tell the HB6 I'm not interested (making it pretty clear). She says she thought we were just friends, and walks away.

I walk out of the club, got some fresh air, hung out a bit with my smoking buddies from class then walked back in. I thought to myself fuck it, and did my first cold approach ever. Walked to a HB8, smiled and said Hey, thought you were cute and wanted to say hi. She looks at me, and walks away. Ouch. Funny thing is I felt nothing. Went back to our room in the club, hung out, then went home.

I am clearly new to this, so you guys can probably rip me to pieces, and please do, I need to learn and improve.
