Are you dressing to attract women, or is does your style reflect your true persona?

No matter what the answer is, it will show after some time, so the choice is your to be perceived as a fake/player; or as a confident male.

Dress in a way the reflects your personality, you will attract women who like that particular look, and you'll probably have a lot in common with them as well.

A particular style could certainly help get your foot in the door with certain girls, and Mystery has definitely shown that an eclectic outfit can create intrigue, but it's really all boils down to being just a costume. The part that does the real attracting is the person underneath. A strong confident man is what most women really want (and dressing well is always a part of that, no one likes a slob!). The only thing that's creating a barrier is yourself, it's not something you'll want to dwell on.

Coming off of michaelnevermind's idea, I think dressing well reinforces the woman's belief that the man has an understanding of socially normative appearance, and less about his personal sense of aesthetics. She can usually conclude that if he can wear the culturally constructed ideal of what is fashionable, then he has a clear understanding of social dynamics, which is attractive because it indicates a strong level of communicative skills.

I would say how you dress definitely influences which types of girls are interested in you initially. Since this is their first impression of you they are sizing you up. You would do the same to a girl, no? As for changing how you dress, that depends. Are you looking for someone who is very similar to you? If so, I wouldn't change much. Otherwise, some small modifications wouldn't be the worst thing for you, as long as ultimately you stay true to yourself. You can adapt without being a "sellout".

It might create a small initial barrier for some girls to talk to you but if you are approaching this shouldn't be a problem. Dress how you want to dress and do it well.

I believe a mature, well put together look has the potential to attract certain types of women before you open your mouth.

However, once you open your mouth and use your words, you can attract ANY woman regardless of what you are dressed like.

Your only limitation on who you attract is you, not your clothes.
