It's not that you have to keep eye contact continuously throughout the interaction. You should be glancing away from time to time. The important thing is not to break eye contact when you've said something to build sexual tension.

I look at it in such a way that it is a basic liberty to look into someones eyes for as long as I desire, The fact that they are reciprocating and maintaining a strong gaze or expression is subtle permission for me to continue on. The breaking of the eye contact is the sign that he/she wants it to stop and that is when you look away. Holding eye contact is something that takes practice to be confident enough to do but once you get the hang of it, It becomes natural and you feel as if it is not a big deal as it once was.

TL;DR The longer she stares the more she wants you to stare back

I personally don't believe in the idea of completely holding eye contact, because I find that unreasonable. Look away sometimes, its not a staring contest

If you guys were talking and having a conversation it's completely normal to break eye contact every so often as you actually talk. If you're describing a scene and use your hands for a gesture, if you're pointing at something, if you stop to think, etc. This is totally normal. What you shouldn't do is look away at the ground and be all embarrassed. Be willing to re-engage that eye contact as soon as you start talking to them again.

Edit: And don't be playful about the eye contact (i.e. triangle gaze, lip stare, etc) unless you're close to making a move, otherwise that can get real creepy real fast.

Just keep doing it. Do it on the street, to random strangers. Then you will find it easier when you do it to someone you know. Remember, whats the worst that could happen?

Mediation.. But with your eyes open.. For 20 mins sit a quite room and stair at 1 thing.. Repeat everyday.

Focus on their nose or the middle of their forehead instead if you can't hold direct eye contact. It's a trick I learned for staring contests as a kid, and it works beautifully.
