I have a question for you guys concerning texting girls, and about "thinking" too much.

In the last months, my philosophy about texting has changed a lot and I will tell you what I mean by that.

For me there are 2 different types of girls in regard to texting: The one that answers immediately and wants to chat, and the one that is not so engaged and maybe takes some time to answer.

So how do you text them??

The responsive one:
This girl will read your message and answer right away. If she does, it shouldn't take you long to answer, maybe 5 minutes at max, because this girl wants to chat.

When you are writing many messages, it should be fun. Boring things like "how was your day" can be notched up easily by saying something crazy/stupid, which actually leads to a fun conversation.

Remember, this girl is responsive, so you should be responsive as well. Don't wait too long when you text her and when you are busy just tell her and she will understand it if you can only answer every 20 minutes or so.

The one that doesn't respond immediately:

First off, beware. Sometimes the girls are just busy and not able to answer or even chat.

Now typically if a girl behaves like that, she hasn't yet made a decision on what she is going to do with you.

So you will have to crack the ice, by writing really stupid sh*t. And I mean it.

Don't be boring - be entertaining. And even more importantly: entertain yourself. Make it fun for you.

Also, when you text a girl like that, go from taking 20 minutes to answer to 15, to 10, to answering immediately, if you feel like you have awakened her interest in some way.

In general:

What many PUAs tell you is that you should try to arrange a date in one of the first messages, which I only partly agree with, because in most cases when you haven't yet established a great connection the night before, chitchat is needed.

Try to get the date later, but in the best case right the day you texted her first. Don't wait too long, just ask.

Also, don't wait 3 days. Text her the next day, late afternoon or so, which is the right time that it doesn't seem needy.

I never make a game out of replying later than the girl. A lot of women do this, and when two people play that game, you just wind up not talking to one another.

I usually text back more or less right away. Obviously, if I'm busy I don't reply back, but I never fake business. One reason I text back right away is because I LEGITIMATELY FORGET if i don't reply back soon.

As far as I'm concerned, texting back quickly isn't needy at all. Neediness or coolness is communicated by the CONTENT of your texts, not the rate or length. I have gotten in the habit of writing a lot of pretty long texts to women that serve me quite well.

One key tactic I use is texting her about myself, and making it sound good. I give her a little window into my life through my texts. So I might text something like (to use an example from last night) :

"I'm drinking moscato on the side of the river with friends - kinda like a hobo. What's on TV?"

This is basically a humblebrag followed by a tease, and stuff like that gets good reactions. Of course, you actually have to be DOING interesting things for these sorts of texts to work....

It's when we F* it up, when we try to get to perfection, we got paranoid, and we just screw the relation, thinking that we are doing something wrong. About texting, everyone has the same psychology, if you ignore him/her it will end up with "them" trying to catch you, but if you text too much, it can make the opposite reaction on the one you try to pick

I've texted my way int a girl's pants before, but you definitely want to do the bulk of seduction in person.

There are people who believe you should ONLY text to arrange meetings. I say that's a bit too restrictive. How old are you? I think the "text to only arrange meetings" thing is mostly advice for the 25+ crowd. College-aged girls and under love to fuckin text, and you can run a lil bit of game there to keep the interaction fresh between real life meets.

In my experience, the less smileys and "haha"s I used the better the game. You don't want a "haha" to be a punctuation mark. It gets dull.

Edit: the "haha" is the "uhh" "ahh" "you know" type of deal that you want to avoid in conversation, or perhaps more of an accurate comparison, it is you laughing at your own joke. Let her laugh. Some redditor said try to move the Haha to the beginning of the sentence or something. Been using it. But ultimately it doesn't matter THAT much in the grand scheme of things. Run your game how you run it, as long as it's working.

I feel like you have to play the texting game by ear, so to speak. I personally only use it to arrange a meeting in person or if the girl instigated more conversation. Match her energy while texting, have a conversation if there is one or wrap it up if things start going cold.

I always say this in these types of questions. role playing is a key part of texting. come up with fun out of the ordinary ideas that are unobtainable. such as starting a rock band or robbing a bank. provide roles for yourself and give her a role in it all so she feels wanted. conversations about nothing can go on for days and can bring the two of you closer together strengthening the relationship immensely.

Just text logistics, don't get into meaningless back and forths.

Once you are better, you can text whatever you want, but if you are worrying about it: Stick to logistics.
