But really, you're not going to get confidence from a book. You need to to do stuff that you are successful at.

Tyler put up a video yesterday detailing on how to overcome insecurities (see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE9QSuSxIMY).

It does a great job of getting rid of insecurities & proves them to be completely irrational. Once you ingrain that into your psyche, pretty much do what everyone else is saying; take action. Regardless of how you feel, proceed to take action. This will further show you how BS your insecurities are over time, and also cause you to have the self-image of someone who takes action & gets shit done regardless of internal or external circumstances.

Speaking from experience, you certainly don't need 10 books on the topic man.

I've been reading Models by Mark Mason, about a third of the way through the book and it is very good for this topic. The thing with confidence is you don't get it from reading a book. The only thing a book can really give you is a mindset or exercises that you can apply to your daily life. The only way I can see a book giving you confidence is if it was written about you and reminded you of all of the good things you've done. So if you have any old field reports you've written then I would read those. The formula for confidence is: confidence = fear + survival; so what that means is when you fear something and approach it anyways you gain a little bit more confidence from that. Getting out of your comfort zone.

I would also recommend this video. If it is the video I am thinking about Julien talks about going against your emotions will make you much better. I've been applying this in my day to day life recently. It's almost become a habit to feel fear, and then automatically think "Go against my emotions". I also have a problem with deciding to go out, I guess a success barrier is what it is. I've been able to overcome that a lot recently just by thinking "Go against your emotions" like in the video. EDIT: 6:30 in the video is where he starts talking about it but I recommend watching the WHOLE video.

You may find some helpful tips in books, but you're not going to radically change your personality from reading a book...get out there and start taking some risks by talking to all different types of people and sharing about yourself.

The Charisma Myth... Really good book, backed with science...She gives you routines to practice in the real world. Highly recommend it. I have been seeing Models mentioned a lot, i should get my hands it.

Those are few I could think of. Like others have mentioned you'll have to go out and practice, experience failure / rejection and use that as a learning experience instead of giving up.

I'd suggest working in a volunteer group or participate in a meetup group. Try networking with the leaders and influential people of that group and starting taking up responsibilities where you're leading the group towards their vision or end goals.
