"You need to not give a fuck, bro"

Why its kind of correct: This is probably the most common advice on seddit. What "not giving a fuck" SHOULD mean is that you shouldn't get too emotionally invested in a girl before she gets emotionally invested in you. Because of evolution, men are wired to become emotionally invested quicker than women because they are programmed to want to impregnate as many women as possible as quick as possible. For this reason, men fall in "love" faster and get too emotionally invested - this freaks women out. That's why you have to artificially withdraw your emotional investment until she becomes emotionally invested.

Why its wrong: A lot of guys interpret "not giving a fuck" as being a completely emotionless robot. Fuck that. It's natural to feel shitty if you're rejected. It's in your genes. Just like you can't turn off your sex drive or hunger drive, you can't turn off rejection anxiety. I even had a guy here tell me that if he was married to a girl for 5 years and had kids with her and she dumped him, he wouldn't care. That's retarded. First, he is lying. Secondly, if he could somehow "not give a fuck" after 5 years of marriage that means he has made himself into a shell of a human being and he is missing one of the most important and awesome parts of life - forming an emotional connection with another person.

Finally, "not giving a fuck" too much will ruin your seduction skills. If a girl sees that you are completely emotionless about everything she does, she will think you aren't interested or that you're some weird emotionless robot. Also, "not giving a fuck" often gives her carte blanche to treat you with disrespect. If a girl does or says something disrespectful to you, and brush it off as a "shit test" you are basically letting her treat you like shit and you look too dumb/weak/vacant to do anything about it. If you were in math class and you were shooting spitballs at somebody's neck, and they pretended like nothing was happening, you wouldn't think they were an "alpha" but that they were a weak bitch.

I was on a date once, which I thought went great, and at the end of the date she was like "I had fun, let's hang out again." I was like "sure, how about Saturday?" And she said "oh, I actually have a date with another guy on Saturday." She immediately continued "Oh, I probably shouldn't have told you that." Trying to "not give a fuck" I was like "I don't care, whatever." But that was the wrong response - because I set myself up to be the bitch in the relationship. Her "shit tests" and disrespectful actions got worse and worse. The next time a similar thing happened on a date I said "Look, we're obviously not exclusive, so you can date other guys if you want, but for you to tell me that indicates that you're not interested in me. So that's it for us." Of course, girl #2 freaked out and called me a million times.

Most shit tests are innocent jabs by a girl that she doesn't even understand she's doing. But sometimes girls will lob at you deluxe shit tests where they know they are being an asshole, and the correct response isn't to "agree and amplify" but to be like "look, you're being rude, and if you continue to act this way, I'm leaving." Its kind of misogynistic to say, but girls love being "put in their place."

Finally, even if you're "not giving a fuck" and still getting laid, you are sacrficing your dignity as a man by letting a girl treat you like shit. You are what you do, and if you let girls treat you like that you are subconciously destroying your own self esteem.

"I have a boyfriend" and "let's just be friends" is a shit test and you should just push through.

Why its kind of correct: Women are a complicated ball of emotions that they themselves do not even understand. So sometimes when they first meet you they will freak out and try to repel you with a lie like "I have a boyfriend" or something. But you can still bag them with some persistence. The fact is, you can bang anybody if you are persistent enough. My roommate in college really liked this girl freshman year in college but she had a boyfriend. He pursued her all throughout college and she kept rejecting him. Finally, when they were seniors she agreed to date him and now they're married. And she treats him like complete ass.

Why its wrong: Liking isn't an on/off switch, especially for women. It's a spectrum, which can range from 0 (I wouldn't fuck you if you were the last guy on earth) to 100 (I will do anything for you). Most girls' interest in you falls somewhere in the middle. But if a girl rejects by saying "I have a boyfriend" or "let's just be friends" she is immediately telling you her interest level is low (at least less than 50), and it will take a lot of work to get her interest level back up. So why waste your time? Why don't you move on to somebody who hasn't already thrown up a wall? The definition of abundance mentality is that you can go find other girls so you don't have to take shit from anybody. If a girl says "let's just be friends" and you hang around, you are either saying 1) yeah I'm ok with being friends or 2) I'm so pathetic and shitty at getting girls I'm going to keep trying to convince this girl who said no to say yes. Either way, its ugly.

If a girl says "I have a boyfriend" your reaction should be to say "well I'm looking for somebody to date" and move on immediately. If she really was "shit testing" you, she will come find you again and now the relationship is on YOUR terms (i.e., romantic).

A final thing: I've noticed that these flaky, wishy washy girls are usually shitty people. I had a girl tell me she "just wanted to be friends" but she took it back after I hooked up with her friend. She then tried to cheat on her boyfriend with me. You don't want this kind of trash in your life.

You need to wait X minutes before you text a girl (or follow some bullshit rule like you send 2 texts for every 3 she sends).

Why its kind of correct: Women are attracted to men who are leading interesting, busy lives, so that should come through in your interactions with them. Also, women are interested in men who are less emotionally invested in them than they are.

Why its wrong: Waiting X minutes before you text a girl back is you basically trying to fake having an interesting, busy life. In fact, having the luxury of timing your texts is evidence that you are leading a pretty boring and shitty life. I mean, do you sit with a timer on your phone that buzzes whenever its time to text? Who wants to even think of that? When girls text me I text them right back if I have the opportunity but I make it clear I can't text all day because I'm busy. I also never initiate bullshit text conversations. If you are truly living an awesome life and aren't emotionally invested in a girl, she will be able to tell. You don't need to fake it.

In fact, waiting makes you look more emotionally invested because its saying to the girl "I saw your text and I thoughta about it for an hour before I responded." But responding right away says "I saw your text and I responded right away to get that shit off my plate." There is nothing more needy than sending girls random texts at random times of the day. Also, waiting too long between texts is an noying and impolite and will make the girl give up on you. I know if I'm texting a girl and she takes an hour to respond to each one of my texts I will just stop texting her.

A conversation should be her talking about herself.

Why its kind of correct: Girls want a guy who cares about them and will listen to them. So its good to let a girl talk about herself. Also, when most guys talk about themselves they are completely oblivious to what the girl cares about so when they talk about themselves the bore the shit out of the girl. Also most guys are stupid douchebags so its better for them to talk as little as possible.

Why its wrong: First of all, making the entire conversation about her is supplicating and beta. She is basically just using you as an emotional towel. And SHE KNOWS THIS. Second, its creepy. I sat next to a couple on a date one night at a restaurant bar and the guy totally let her drive the conversation. It sounded creepy because no rational human being could possibly give a fuck about what she was saying, so it was clear that he was just in the conversation to fuck her. She could tell and I could tell. In a real conversation, both parties are equal and both parties speak equally. Of course, it has to be a topic that you are both interested in (don't bore her with your stories of comic book characters if she doesn't care that) and have an emotional investment in.

Also, part of building attraction is that she has to feel an emotional connection with you. She can't feel an emotional connection with you if you don't say anything about yourself. Remember, you have to sell yourself.

Finally, making the conversation all about her is another example of a common misconception in dating, which is that a date is basically an experience where the guy tries to impress the girl and make her happy. Fuck that. She has to qualify herself to you, not vice versa. If you spend the whole time trying to make her happy, you are basically saying "look, like I'm all in (emotionally). I want you. Now will you please want me." Rather, on a date she should feel like she is on thin ice with and she needs to make YOU feel happy.
