Social Engineering lesson 2: Be a positive experience in someone's life.

If you do either of those things, people will warm up to you.

I've been a fan of "Insta-date", which has been discussed elsewhere (including over on Roosh's forums.) If you are at a restaurant or coffee shop chat up a nearby interest. If she's game try to sit with her. If you do then you just started an insta-date. You're no longer some creepy person from the streets, instead you're that great person who just happened to be behind/ahead of her in line at the store who made that great quip about whatever...

Walking up to a woman and hitting on her is saying, "I would like to sleep with you because you're attractive. Here is what I look like. Wanna do this?"

It's not effective in most situations. You need to feel comfortable approaching on neutral (but charming) ground, and start conversations about something other than HER.

This should allow her to feel more comfortable with you, and make it seem like the attraction is more natural and spontaneous than you seeing her and preying upon her.

I would say many of the girls I cold approach on the street are open and happy that I did. Some ignore me, the rest like it a lot.

Just a day ago I texted a girl I approached in the evening, and the first thing she says is "Hi! Really great of you to approach, nice with honest and awesome people!"

They're not warm to strangers approaching them unless you are good looking/rich/athletic.
