Nice post. Very comprehensive.

Man, I'm tired of people grinding on the dance floor. I remember being out of the scene for a while then coming back and watching everyone set on perpetual-grind mode. I thought, Jesus Christ is this the best that we can do? It looks so boring. Ah, but what can you do? The times, they be a'changin'.

One thing I'm working on is slowed-down salsa turns and spins to hip hop. I figure if you can salsa to drum and bass, you can salsa to anything. And I don't mean doing all salsa, just some key moves to make things interesting and less boring.
