I've developed a similar mindset that I try to keep in mind that I discovered at work one day. I constantly will come into the store I work at early or if I'm just in the neighborhood that day and if my coworkers are having a conversation with someone or I see someone interesting I go talk to them without fear or hesitation. This is because it's MY store. It's a place that I'm comfortable with and I feel safe in. The thing is, they don't know that. At least not initially. All they know is some super confident guy just came up and started chatting them up out of the blue. This works EVERYWHERE! It's all about cultivating a positive mindset and allowing yourself the opportunities that are right in front of you.

I wish there was more in field footage of Cajun. Based on his keys to the VIP stuff he is the most solid pua I have seen. His best advice IMO is that subcommunication is king. You might be telling a girl one thing but thinking something else which gives you a slight smirk and comes across as confident and smooth.

I saw this comment in his thread by /u/Untraced:

"I'd like an answer to this one too. I've got a pretty close group of friends and one of the guys let slip to one of the girls that I'm interested in the community. Girl then proceeds to ask me "So how was your 'game' night the other night? Get any numbers?" in front of 8+ people. Wasn't happy. Wouldn't a simple "Why, you jealous?" + shit eating grin have sufficed? I'm just asking, because as a girl I feel like her talking to him like that kind of indicates interest. Like she's trying to get some kind of reaction out of him, maybe to make him try even harder on her? Once he disarms her with the "you jelly?", he would be back in the game, no?

preface.

On halloween I somewhat met this girl, but not really all that seriously (more like hi, introduction, some joking, and see ya later imma grab a beer), and we were wearing costumes and face paint. Later on I wakeup on the long couch and she is trying to sleep on the other side or whatever and dudes are awake and I think on coke or something. One was sorta creepin on her but I think she just went to sleep. When I left I put a blanket on her and then I added her on fb and told her I did. We talked about her costume (on fb; harley quinn) and stupid shit like comic con and blizzcon which was coming up which I invited her to and she accepted (but fell through). Since then we commented somewhat on each others facebook but nothing serious.

So fast forward to last saturday. I was gonna head dt but friends flaked. She made some posts about it being her bday and I joked with her on her status and said something like 'you gotta buy me a beer if I make you laugh' and I headed over to the bar she was at.

I arrive and there are a half a dozen people and her near a pool table and I just go over to her and say hi and give her a hug (I really barely know her). She introduces herself like she doesn't know who I am, and I notice she is pretty drunk, and she sorta half turns away toward her group and I body rock sideways/backwards. I decide this is a awkward but I still explain I was just talking to her on FB and just give up as she doesn't seem interested or is confused (or just drunk as fuck). So I just walk away and ignore her and her group for the rest of the night. (ended up seeing old friends behind them and hanging out with them)

TL;DR Straight walked up to a girl and it was awkward as fuck because factors. And OP's 'direct' thing isn't gonna work 100%
