About two months ago, I was sitting minding my own business when one of the sexiest women I have ever seen walks into my life. (That will happen sometimes, and you've got to be ready for it.) We flirted, I got her number, and we met up a few times after that - just light, flirtatious socializing.

We were texting most days, and on the phone maybe 3 times a week. She was responsive, always replied 'lol' or 'lmao' to my funny texts, and even called me a few times. (It's really rare for a girl to call a guy in these situations.)

Then one day she stopped replying to my texts and calls. Fuck. I wanted this girl. What did I do wrong? I started thinking, "She must not like me", "I said something that put her off" and other thoughts like that.

Today - a few hours ago - she called me: "I'm so sorry, Jolyox! My dad's been sick and I've been back in my hometown with him!"

Her silence had nothing to do with me, nothing to do with anything I said or did. External circumstances just got in the way of her wanting to hook up with me. That's the moral: when an interaction goes sour, especially with phone/text stuff, don't assume it's your fault. You're an awesome guy and all women want you, but sometimes life just gets in the way; don't let that feed your self-downing thoughts.

Edit: Never been top of a subreddit before! Glad you guys liked my story. I'll post an update when she's tied to my bed in the next room.
