Once upon a time your dining hall, gym, classroom, bedroom, frat house, and the 8-10 girls you’ve been leading on and fucking that semester are all within a 5 minute walk of each other. After an amazing, 4-year-long drunken dream full of good nights, awkward mornings, triumphs, regrets, amazing stories, and tons of slams you wake up to…

Post college life…..having to figure out how to be an “adult” (WTF is that), create a basic plan of action for rest of your life, manage your bank account, start paying back loans, wishing you studied a boring subject that would land me a desk job right after graduation, applying and interviewing for new jobs, all while adjusting to moving to a new city.

I am lucky enough to be living with my brother who is still in college and has a really solid crew of 8-10 guys and girls that we consistently hang out with and party with but they’re all still 20 and cant go to bars and even when we can all sneak into the bars together, its so cliquey, I don’t know anyone, everyone just talks within their own groups, and I usually end up just drinking myself into a blackout stupor.

I’m sorry if this is blunt but I almost feel retarded. What has happened to me?

All of this is such a culture shock. After 4 years of building high quality friends, connections, relationships, and a high social status while at college, now I have nothing, and to be quite honest its scaring the shit out of me. Never in my life has it been hard to make friends, especially in college, as I was a part of so many groups between being an athlete, working on campus, being in a frat, being a closet nerd with plenty of study buddies. Somehow I was able to build a (mostly) good reputation….depends who you ask ;) and I guess that’s how I pulled most of my girls. People knew who I was….the funny, good looking, athletic, smart guy that used to hook up with x, y, and z.

Now that I’m thinking about it, I’ve never really been one to pull a girl from the bar. I always relied on my many connections, social status/reputation, confidence and seduction knowledge to create attraction.

Now I’m just one in a million, some random dude that nobody knows, or known as “________’s older brother that just moved into town.” This is majorly depressing to me, I used to be something special, something desirable, and now I feel lonelier than ever. I have only had sex with 2 girls in the past 3 months, but more importantly I haven’t really made any of “my own” friends yet.

Right when I moved down here I met a really sexy girl through my brother and his group of friends and immediately I was attracted to her and I knew she was attracted to me as well. We were talking for a little and hooked up twice, but I ended up coming off as too clingy and fucked it up….Of course I did, she was my first actual friend I made since moving here. I got too excited, gave her too much attention and scared her off. This actually cut me really deep when I got the “lets just be friends” text, as I hadn’t really been denied since my gf broke up with me sophomore year of college..

I’ve always been slow adjusting to new things, high school, college, whatever, but this is different. I’m not in lecture halls with 300 potential new friends, walking around a campus filled with 30,000 people anymore. I’m 1,200 miles away from home, 650 miles away from where I went to college living in a big ass city.

TL;DR I’m sure a lot of you guys have been though this before, graduating college, moving to a new city, whatever. How do you meet girls that you want to fuck more than once when you’re both hammered after meeting in the bar, and more importantly the fuck do you make friends in the real world?
