I've seen men of all races do well or poorly. There are a lot of variables including looks, clothes, body language, approach, attraction game, comfort, rapport skills, etc. I wouldn't worry about the race aspect since you can't change it and work on improving your game.
[–]ThatSpecialPlace 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
I fully agree with this. It doesn't matter if it's a factor or not.
In No More Mr. Nice Guy by Robert Glover he talks about surrendering. Focusing on what you can change (looks (to an extent), clothes, inner game, etc.), and letting go of what you can't.
Race is something that's with you for life, embrace every bit of it.

Actually, I recommend using any positive stereoypes for your race, ethnicity, nationality, etc. in your favor. (Ever group has some positive stereotypes.) I do this all the time because I have multiple ethnicity. I even target some types of girls differently based on this.
[–]ThatSpecialPlace 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Absolutely. I'm Puerto Rican (and a few other things) and I love it when people ask me about my ethnicity. Girls love my tan, and it seems to be the thing for them (mostly referring to white girls) to compare their fake tan to my natural tan. I also have no problem hearing the typical "Mexican" jokes that come with the territory of being tan. I'm too witty to be put down anyways.

Can you give me some examples?
[–]DaygameCoach 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Sure, off the top of my head:
I've seen people play up their culture being as family oriented (various), exotic (various), or good dancers (latino), or passionate (latino, french, italian). Also, some cultures seem to cross date (Jews and Indians are an example). Also, identity is powerful, and many people have their culture tied into that...so I've had Indian clients work family oriented and their food and culture into their stories. I would look into what the DHV triggers are and work your culture and identity into some of your stories.

You seem like you are pretty knowledgable. What have your experiences been like? Was it just a lot of practice and was it hard at first or did it come natural?

I had some major challenges at the beginning so I got coaching, and a ton of wings (and pivots), and went into the field 5-6 days a week. Basically...I hit a point where I continuously did things I couldn't have pulled off 3 months prior. In a couple of years , I was coach level.
[–]Bossbailey[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What kind of coaching? Did you have an outgoing personality initially?
[–]DaygameCoach 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
What was then called Pickup. I wound up being coached by Knack, who was with Ask Romeo (when Romeo owned it) for a while and later got hired by Mystery. Knack and was 1 of 2 behind the scenes coaches for The Pickup Artist Season 2. He is one of my closest friends. He no longer coaches or sarges.
Yes, I'm an extrovert. I had major body language issues and did not have outwardly alpha behaviors.

I guess I'm just afraid as others are of rejection. I'm not sure how people will respond when I go up to them and if I do get rejected I wouldn't even know how to handle it without making it awkward.
[–]DaygameCoach1 point 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
There is no rejection. They are doing you a favor.
"Yes" and "No" are good things. Maybe wastes your time. There is a sea of men out there and if the inappropriate ones get out of your way, it makes your life easier.
That said, you are going about this backwards. You are supposed to go out with your female friends or alone and send "approach invitations" and "Indications of interest" (much of which is body language), so that the men approach you. Hot women don't NEED to approach. If you were 100 lbs overweight, it might be a different story. Even a "6" (which you are above) doesn't have to approach because to many men she is higher than a 6 (or a societal 6 is a high # for them).
Ive done all I can do here. Read (for body langauge signals including reading who is interested) Superflirt, Superdate, You Say More Than You Can Think and for seduction....Art of Seduction.

Much as people don't want to admit it, race still continues to dominate a lot of social interaction. Asians (East and South) have to contend with persistent and powerful prejudice that they are less sexual virile than other men. Blacks have a prejudice in their favor about sexual prowess, but are up against massive amounts of ingrained and systemic covert racism. My conclusion is that "it is a big factor" -- even if women don't want to admit it -- but, like everything else, you can overcome it, just as you can overcome being short, bald, unattractive, etc.
[–]8sweettooth8 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
For the approach and initial stages of attraction and seduction, yes it is a big factor. More than most people care to admit.
Most people will feel more comfortable with those of the same "kind".
Each minority race/background has its own stereotype. NOTE: I do not necessarily believe the following traits to be true. This is simply information gathered through my reading and personal knowledge. For example: black men are aggresive, latinos are unfaithful, asian and middle eastern men are misogynistic, etc.
The key is to behave in a way that counters those stereotypes and you will quickly be a man of high value to her. A man that does not have a specific set of stereotypes attached to him will not attain the same high value using the same behavior as a man that does. So for example, if you take an asian or white man that behaves in a way that shows faithfulness, he will not attain high value using the SAME behavior as quickly as a latino man.
Unfortunately, it is something that you SHOULD take into consideration. However, it can be handled.

Is race a big factor for most women when guys approach you?
Race is pretty much irrelevant in the long run.
Or is it more about the conversation and where it goes from there?
Yeah, you could argue that.
[–]Bossbailey[S] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I guess I'm curious if women already have a preconceived notion and won't give other guys a chance based on the initial approach because of race
[–]boutaweekago 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes there are racist women out there. No they are not worth a second of anyone's time.
[–]viksenpai 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, and also there are women who don't give some guys a chance, because they only date tall people, muscular people, fat people, nerdy people, midgets. And that's just fine, you can't get them all. It's just personal preference (apart from racism, racism sucks balls).
[–]baguette180 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe in a racist place. But in a normal place, if you go to a club and your state is raging it won't really be a problem with like 90% of women in a normal place.
If you don't have much game. Like if you arnt a natural or don't know game I'm pretty sure race will play a big factor.
Iv had several women tell me that they don't really find Asians attractive (they don't like think that they are a lessors race or anything but they just don't really find them that attractive. So if an asian don't have any form of game a girl will be much less likely to like him. But if he has has game then it makes up for it.
Does this make since?
[–]DaygameCoach 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yes, there are ignorant assholes out there, male or female...but you shouldn't worry about or assume it. Learn how to recognize and deal with shit tests. Sometimes women are just testing you.
What race are you?
Asian
[–]DaygameCoach 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I've seen some Asian guys with tight game. The fact that it goes against stereotypes makes them stand out.
Now that I think of it, there are negative stereotypes for white men too. One example is that if you game Asian American girls...they often screen you for an Asian fetish.
