I have mild acne and I'm self conscious at times. Is acne a huge turn off?

Don't let it affect your confidence.
Go to a dermatologist and try to get rid of it.

Aside from the fact that this will be good for your skin in the future, it will also impact your thinking now. Because acne is part of you at this point and there's nothing you can do about it right now, so you better own it, but at the same time you're also taking action, so if you're treating it there's nothing else you can do at the moment.

Unless it is absolutely terrible, it really doesn't matter dude. I know a guy who has pretty bad acne, but still gets girls all the time.
Why? Because he is confident.
You are already rejected by a girl if you don't ask her out, so you might as well try.

Keep in mind your acne looks 100x worse to yourself than to others.

Not everyone is as 'sensitive' to acne as others, some people might not even notice a few pimples while others can be distracted by a single one.

Please don't let it affect you, if there's anything I've learned from having severe acne: Your mind holds you back much more than the actual acne.

Who cares if a girl likes you less because of acne: why should you care, there is no reason you should be held back by whatever anyone thinks of you(I'm not saying you shouldn't fix your acne, please do try to! It will definitely help you.)

Sometimes there's nothing you can really do to fully get rid of your acne - it's usually hormonal. With that being said, please PLEASE don't let it get in the way of your life. It does not matter. I know of a guy with absolutely terrible acne and he is very outgoing and confident in the way he carries himself, and he has no issues getting girls. He's a fairly popular guy. So don't dwell on the fact you have mild acne. Ignore it. Live life without dwelling on it, and just pretend you don't even have it. Acne is such a common issue, so don't be self conscious about it, and nobody else will even notice it or pay attention to it.

Try not eating praticly no carbs. In societies where they don't eat carbs they have no acne. Carbs put glucose into your blood stream which causes inflammation and they beleve acne is a form of inflammation. (Your skin is an organ after all)

I took acutain (idk how it is spelled) befor I found out the carb thing, so I cured my acne with that. You could do that, it had side effects though. I'd try other things first.

Also there is a different type of acne caused by skin mites, and you can kill them with soap. That is a really uncommon type of acne though.

If try other solutions before taking acutane.

Also change your pillow case every day!

You may want to try washing with hot water and an exfoliating scrub, once in the morning, and once before bed. Also avoid touching your face during the day, and change your pillow case frequently.

Get some face scrub, the store brand shit. Use it in the shower at night before you go to bed. (Follow the directions)

Then apply a very small amount of some regular body lotion on your face. (the width of your pinky finger) then get 8 hours of sleep. Do this every night you'll see results in 2 weeks.

Honestly man you have nothing to worry about. I had pretty bad acne for some time but if anything it helped me grow because I had to put more work in. There is a kid in my school who has terrible skin and gets way more ass than I do so that's an answer right there. Your acne will go away eventually so don't stress out, just stay true to the fundamentals on seddit and you'll be fine.

If only effects your attraction if you are self conscious about it. If you want to eliminate it try cutting sugar and grains from your diet and heal your stomach lining. What happens in your gut happens on your skin.

Your acne is neutral. Your self consciousness is a turn off.

Try Proactive. I went to the Dermatologist and nothing worked. Proactive fixed me up in a month. Seriously, that stuff works wonders. You have to use all three steps. Stick with it, it doesn't work overnight. But once it starts working, it will be fast and it keeps working with consistency. Pro tip: It has Benzyl Peroxide in it, and it will bleach the color out of the collars of your dark shirts over time. Just be aware.

Your self-consciousness over your looks matters so much more than your looks.

I'm not saying that to make you more self-conscious. The point is, relax. It doesn't matter as much as you think it does. Just do your best to take care of it and don't worry about it.

Seriously. I can't emphasize it enough especially since it's easy to logically understand things without truly, emotionally understanding it on a very deep level (e.g. knowing how to play basketball vs. actually playing basketball). Looks don't matter as much as you think they do.

I have pretty bad cystic acne my whole life. Did it affect my game in college? Not really, confidence is what matters. Also, really see a Derma and get on Accutance. I'm doing it right now and my skin has really cleared up alot in a week. All that over the counter stuff is weak sauce and doesn't really help much.

A BB cream also helps smooth over the scars and red marks. I'm using this Hada Labo ivory beige BB cream and it's pretty good. Don't get the cheap stuff, it'll make your face oily and cause you to breakout.

Buy glycolic acid on amazon. Get the 30% strength. If you're really serious about it, cut dairy out of your diet. I started doing this about 6 months ago and it's gone, aside from the occssional zit.
