I'll be honest, I've tried both. In my experience, at the college level, texting is preferable. Calling for 1st, 2nd dates seems to catch people a little off guard and I've gotten better responses with texts. Just my two cents.

Yeah, there is a lot of overthinking when it comes to dating, don't sweat it. IF she is into it, it wont matter how you set it up.
