Channel your obsession into workout, a project, learning something, whatever gives you real value for life.

Thanks man. This is definitely helping.
I just realized I haven't worked on any of my hobbies in like three weeks. Obsession is a bitch.

I try to find out what it is that I'm obsessing about in the person. Sometimes it's their body or how they make me feel or how I think they might make me feel. Often when I figure out what it actually is and 'name it' so to speak, it dissipates. Another strategy I use is to actually stop resisting my thoughts around something or someone and just let myself totally go for it with the obsession. Literally carve some time out of your day and just go as deeply into your fantasy / obsession / desire as you possibly can. Literally keep challenging yourself to go for more. This does a couple things: 1) helps me figure out why the fuck I'm so obsessed with it 2) gets me clear on exactly what I actually WANT with that person (which means I can then take the steps to creating that) 3) allows me to be present with the person when I'm with them next because I'm not resisting feeling everything I feel to be present with them. I've already done it on my own time. 4) Allows my mind to do what it wants to do, so, when it's done, I can actually focus on what I need to focus on.
Make sense?
Good luck!

Going thru this very thing right now. Writing about it in a journal helps unload the thoughts from your brain. do what TheXXL said as well and channel it to other things. But also I believe that its ok to feel this way as long as its not becoming a negative in the relationship. Talk to your partner about what your thinking and feeling, if they are the one for you, they will calm this.

I know this might be hard but meet more people and mess up more. I tried gaming this girl who I knew had a boyfriend, he picked up the phone when I called. I feel like a shit person and I messed up their relationship entirely but the more do something the more you get used too it and you learn to let it go.

If you had 4 girls trying to jump your bones, obsession would go out the window...
