I see this come up quite a bit in my life, and even more on here, let's get some of the best and brightest to comment on it.

Situation:

You have dated a girl for a few days/weeks/months, and while you observe a few red flags, the good has been more than the bad. As time moves on, more and more of her crazy is showing up. Deep down, you know there is no real future, but she is here, she is horny, and she has no intention of letting you go.

I see this over and over and over, in my life, and in the threads of fellow posters.

My strategy is to be efficient on this. Basically, just like I would at work if I had to let someone go. It is an uncomfortable conversation, but best done cleanly, without emotion or drama, and if possible, without blame.

...but it is never quite that simple with some girls. Some girls have some redeeming qualities, but are just fundamentally unworthy of continual plate status, and no way worthy of girlfriend status, and no one truly wants to leave the campsite worse than we found it.

So, how to handle stage 5 clingers?
