Do you have any hobbies? I think you should try to expand on them and build relationships there. If you play soccer in a club then try to organize stuff with the people from the club. Or organize learning groups with classmates and then move with it to meetups to do something with them. If you bring them value in any way and they get something positive out of it, they are going to invite you.

That post by hector was really good. Its all about giving value.

The Art of Charm podcast has some really good stuff on this. The social capital episode and the (I think its called this) 'How to make friends in a new city' episode have some good ideas.

The main concept is to gather some leads and work from there. The different pools you'll score leads from are mainly work and hobbies. From here you want to create a regular event to funnel your leads into. This could be going out for drinks or dinner. Anything really. Friendships develop over time so you need to engineer facetime.

You'll also get invited to other peoples events as well providing you with new leads and further expanding your network.

This will take time. The start is usually very slow. As your social skills improve and network expands things start to scale very fast.

I've just moved to a new city and I'm trying to put this into practice myself.

Meetup.com is one way to go. Find activities you like and you will get to know more people. Then maybe arrange one on your own and invite people you met on different meetups, ask them to bring other friends if they want. It multiples so it should be easy. Keep in mind you won't like 80% of the people and you shouldn't. But be open minded and keep talking to them.

Get into volunteering! Volunteering has 2 main benefits: 1. It makes one feel good generally about serving the community and helping others. 2. It also brings one closer to like-minded people having a generous heart towards the society and one would naturally have a better connection with them. Even weekly volunteering activities can lead to more hang ous and increase social circle within months.

That's what all the good joke punchlines are about, bud. Not having friends. How do you make friends? Have you not been asking yourself this your whole life? A lot of it comes down to personality. Who would you sit with at lunch or play with at recess at school? How do you approach people, and what do you look for in conversation?

As an adult the easiest ways to meet people are through classes, (especially physical activity or "fun" classes) join a sport of club, ask to hang out with work people, etc. My life long friends I was lucky enough to make through college, and still got maybe 1 or 2 buddies from high school. Nurture your true friendships. Expand your social circle through shit like social media if you want. It's kind of frustratingly boring to use it for this purpose but it's like a garden to cultivate now and again.

If you are gaming, try going to the same venue the same days every week. I go to one place every Friday and Saturday, so I've made friends that I see on both those nights

I'm pretty experienced in this, its all because of the field I work in, and personality. One tip to expand your social circle is read a lot, and do a lot of random hobbies, or things in general, people don't want to hang out with you if you only talk about what you like. People like to talk, and want someone to listen, if you have the same interests, hobbies it's very easy to connect. A lot of people have offered me jobs because they say that I can easily connect with people. You can PM me if you need more info.

How have you been "asking?" Can you give some examples of you being refused? Please give more information than you think will be necessary, because whatever you answer, it probably won't be descriptive enough.

I think I am a pretty fun guy to hangout but it’s just people don’t know that.

You are focused on what you think should be true, when it's clear that people who are refusing you to hang out, are turning you down because you aren't demonstrating that.

Something you are doing is sabotaging you when you ask them to hang out. If you explain in detail how you're asking, we might be able pin point what's going wrong.

Snapchat stories brotha... post cool adventures and shit, then people will want to hangout with you. Like 30 people asked me about all the stuff i do on my stories, and multiple people have asked me to bring them along. I never ended up ibviting any of them, but it definitly showed them that I was fun to hangout with.
