What are the worst rejections you guys have ever had?

My worst rejection was when I spent years rejecting myself. Nothing hurts more than self hate. External rejection, such as from women, jobs, colleges, and shit come and go in life, but self hate is permanent and most painful. I've only recently made this discovery and I feel as if there is one simple thing you can do to just be more happy with life, it's to learn to fucking love yourself. Do this, and external rejections might still hurt, but only for minutes, hours, days, and not longer. As corny as it sounds, just try it. Start by listing where you can add value. What value do you bring to the world?

Approached. Got number.

Texted, set dinner date at my place.

Left work early to clean apartment and buy groceries.

Texter her around 5pm. She confirmed she was still coming

Started cooking around 6. She texts "On my way!"

Never shows up. I text her and get nothing. End up eating the meal for 2 alone.

See her posting on Facebook the next day like nothing happened.

I'll take a brutal "in your face" rejection over cleaning and cooking and getting stood up. I think I was about 21 when that happened. After that I never set up complex first dates again with women. It was always "meet for drink or coffee" after that.

I did my first ever approach in a club last night. Went up to go say hi and I got shut down within 5 seconds, said she had a 'super boyfriend rn' lol. My approach was hella awkward because the AA was getting to me and I broke the 3 second rule by quite some time but it felt good to take my first steps. I've been laughing about the term 'super boyfriend' all day long.

They're not usually that bad, even when they feel bad. Like, the whole idea of a girl slapping you and throwing their drink over you for approaching them never really happens

Off the top of my head, one of the worst ones was on the dancefloor. Quite a lot of open space and a girl starts dancing super close to me, almost grinding her ass on me. Considering there's so much room on the dancefloor, I took this as an IOI and kind of turned towards her and smiled and tried to dance with her. She looked at me like I was repulsive and pushed me as hard as she could. Surprisingly hard, actually!! haha. Was kinda mortofying as my friends were all watching ;(

I got one the other other night that stung a bit. It wasn't HALF as brutal, but it was more just super frustrating because she was like a 10/10 and I just felt so powerless in terms of I don't believe that 'game' can make a girl like you. She either does or she doesn't. And I felt like this confirmed it. So I opened her and straight away she was like ''Can you leave me alone?'' and flicked her hair like she was some famous model and I was a homeless man and kind of put her palm near my face. I tried to persist and use various 'game' techniques that are supposed to get rid of her bitch shield and used every single 'method', but it was useless. I was simply not hot enough for her lol

Other than that, i've had LOTS of rejection that stung at the time but don't really last clearly in the memory. They are just typical 'UK girl' rejections where she basically just 'backturns' as soon as you say 'hi! :)' and grabs her friends arm as if she needs saving from the monster. Or it's the ones where you are literally talking too a brick wall and after a few mins you run out of things to say because she isn't contributing at all. You try to implement all the advice you read about 'making statements', make assumption. DOn't ask questions' etc, but it's like she's read the books too and simply doesn't engage at all until either the social pressure just gets too much and you self eject, or she just wanders off whilst you're in mid sentence lol

Having said all of that, i've had a few home runs as well and banged a few girls who people would say are too hot for me from cold approach. Numbers game!!

Cold approach is a rough game, but I think it's characted building. End of the day, I feel that your looks are super important with cold appraoch. If you open her and you aren't her type, all the game in the world won't make her want you. On the other hand, if you are totally her type, it's literally harder to mess up! And then if you are somewhere in the middle, THAT'S when 'game' (appearing confident, passing shit tests, escalating smoothly etc) comes into play

I had a girl come up to me at one of the bars at my university and tell me to, "not talk to her", followed by "because you're ugly". Not really a rejection, but was still kinda brutal

Walked up to a group of 4 girls. At the time I was focusing on two things: Not using canned openers and not bailing at the first sign of awkwardness. I opened with "You ladies are all sitting with the same posture!" What followers wasn't so much a rejection as a roast, but I stood there and took it because my goal for the night was to hang in longer than I was comfortable with. Usually I'm like you and can shake off rejection pretty easily, but this one affected me for a long time.

After lots and lots of dates, I found that I get the best results by waiting 4-8 weeks before I meet someone in person. This does a couple things:

1) it gets them invested in you

2) due to the 'sunk cost fallacy', they're more likely to cut you some slack on the date

When following this pattern, I've been able to get laid about 85% of the time on the first date.

I found that every time I violated my rule, not only did I NOT get laid, I wouldn't even get a second date. And the weird thing is that it actually stings more if they're old or unattractive. For instance, I met a girl online who was fairly awful looking, but she was eager to meet up. So I threw caution to the wind. And even though she was terrible looking, she just acted completely rude on the date. Really left a bad taste in my mouth, the kind of date that makes you want to call it quits.

I’m assuming you aren’t including relationship break ups within the scope of rejection here. Aside from being a teen and dealing with that type of over the top drama, I haven’t really dealt with rough rejections regarding new women since becoming an adult. Most of the time it’s just been getting flaked out on, the fairly polite turn down, or an occasion ghosting. It’s never as terrible as my mind wants to say it will be. My particular personality isn’t really bullheaded and I’m good at reading people so it saves me some problems. I may experience them in the future though as I am getting back into dating and I’m very rusty.

Does post lay rejection count?

At Bonnaroo, I met up with a girl I previously met once. Her friends wanted to go home earlier, but I convinced her to stay till the end, then drove her back to Georgia. We laid in bed and fucked for a whole day. She said she wanted me to come visit her again, so we made plans for a month later.

Month went by, and I drove down from PA, where I lived at the time. The vibe was just weird from the start, but I tried to keep a positive attitude and pressed on. I stayed two nights, but she shut down every move I made. Then the second morning (actually around 1 pm) she told me she started dating someone and asked me to leave.

The worst rejections I actually had were during my middle school youth. Its as if I passed strong prejudice, so I don't experience harsh rejections anymore.
