Self aware smooth guys of reddit, what mistakes do you see non-smooth guys make while in conversation?

I'm not a "self-aware smooth guy". If I fool people, it's from a lifetime of practice. One of my friends once described as about as subtle as a nuclear bomb - no joke.

But I can tell you the number one mistake non-smooth guys make, from personal experience:

The more focused you are on the intention of getting laid, the more obviously that intent will shine through your conversation.

You learn this when girls start to approach you and come onto you. With many girls, you have to be an Aspie not to notice when she's coming on to you, or when she's got boning you on her brain. You can tell when the interaction means far more to her than it does to you - it shines through in dozens of tiny ways.

That's why girls may not be mind readers, but they're exceptionally good at telling when someone wants them. They've had far more experience with it than you.

Therefore, if you want successful interactions with women, don't be needy. That's where and why guys fuck up. They get insecure, they get desperate, they try too hard, or puss out.

As for opening and closing a conversation, just about anything goes. Different girls will react differently to different things, that's why the key is feeling her out and finding common ground.

When the man makes everything about himself or tries to impress her.

That screams insecurity, instead...making her feel special is where its at, at least in my experience.

A few things I will list here.

Qualifying yourself to the girl. If you skip this and add in a sensible amount, emphasis on sensible, self-depricating humour you will do really well. Example: Asking a girl what "she's doing" just so you can tell her about your great job and how much money you make. And that is if you wanna be kind of smooth, if you're really tactless you would just straight up "flex" on her and say it out of thin air. But if you instead just let things come naturally and even play yourself down a little bit by self-depricating statements and/or humour it will make you come of as not trying and just being cool.
If a guy comes up to you and your girl and tries to join the conversation, don't acknowledge him, just ignore. This can fuck up a lot of things, the ultimate downfall is of course that she just ditches you for the other guy or it breaks you up and you just lost her to her friends or whatever it could be. Example: You and a girl are talking, some random guy just comes up and starts to talk to her (basically trying to steal yo gurl right infront of you), if you don't acknowledge him it just becomes awkward and he's not invited to the conversation by you. The girl might reciprocate and at that point it's a waiting game, she might be done with him in seconds, maybe not. If that's the case try to keep her in your periphery for once she's actually done with him and just speak to other women in the meantime. She might come up to you once she's done or you can reinitiate.
Having no personal boundaries what so ever. You can say no, disagree, et.c. No need to be a doormat. Example: Agreeing with everything she says, letting her step all over you and her lead the conversation/interaction heavily.
Getting into "interview mode" and not being fun/sexual enough. Example: Asking her basic "interview questions" for hours and then once you're ready to go home with her /start putting the moves on her/touching her, et.c. she will be in complete shock from your sudden attraction. She did not get those signals at all before and it just comes out of nowhere and she might not Itview you in that way at all or she would have but you didn't make it clear early enough. Sprinkle in some fun stuff/physicality as soon as you can.

I alternate between smooth and chode. I have no idea why yet, but when I'm smooth I don't care if at all and am just having fun. Whatever happens, happens. When I'm a chode I'm super needy, think too hard about what I'm gonna say and do and am generally self aware, it sucks. I am still trying to get this under control for consistency sake.

They get stuck in their own head and give too many fucks.

Open convos situationally if possible. If not, just say "hi" - really that's it.

Close it with something funny and while she's laughing say, "you know what? we have fun. put your number in my phone. (hand over phone)" text almost immediately something funny.

Smooth guys can flirt in a fun way and counter the tests women throw at them. They're not outcome-dependent, they don't care what happens.

Smooth guys allow women to become a part of their lives rather than trying to become part of theirs by forcing things (sex, bs relationships labels,etc).

Smooth guys don't get angry or butthurt if a girl rejects him because there is always the next girl down the road.

Dam it feels good to be a wankster.
