Nooooo not a letter!! This is a guaranteed rejection. Youre making excuses. Find two minutes to verbally tell her the same thing (minus the social anxiety stuff). You’ll get a lot further with her if you man up and approach her

I know man, this wasn't what I wanted to hear haha

[–]Visualize_ 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

please don't do this. The first step is to throw away the letter.

Also at the end you said "let me no either way". Was that a Freudian slip or something lmao

For a more helpful breakdown, the letter approach is just wrong because 1) it shows you have no confidence, 2) the contents are full of excuses and 3) you sound like a snob when you say stuff like "I have been longing to have an intellectual conversation to someone". Inner game probably would be a big first step for you, and just overall learning how to be generally sociable. Because the whole part about intellectual conversation makes me think there is a lack of social awareness or at least the ability to connect with strangers

Yeah, dude, throw the letter away. See if you have any female friends who are friends with her and see if all three of y'all can hang out so you can get to know her better. If not, just talk to her. Start slow, see if she taking up any sports. That is the best way to spend a lot more time together. The letter is the Kryptonite that kills all budding relationships.

...and don’t tell her she’s somewhat smart either. It’ll get you kicked in the nuts.

Oh man...no...no...no...no..no! The very first sentence "please keep this confidential" is literally what she WONT DO! I cant even pretend I wouldnt show people if I got that kind of letter! 😳. It IS cringey, creepy, and downright (dare I say it) weird. This comes across as "that guy" on campus girls would avoid because he creeps them out, because he has NO self awareness and cant read social cues. Im sorry to say that.

The only improvement you can make to that letter is NOT TO SEND IT, throw it in the trash, or burn it. Giving her that letter will inevitably make YOU the target of some serious negative attention or even worse, becoming the "joke" everyone makes fun of. And yes, people will see/hear about that letter if you give it to her. Dont fool yourself. If you really want to tell this girl how you feel - talk to her in person. And dont comment on her intellect or "smarts"...that makes YOU sound even weirder and arrogant. And a socially smart guy would never even write a letter like that 🤷‍♀️

Well said

Just go up and talk to her. You got this

[–]gameandrsd 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That sounds like a really good idea to get rejected, throw it away! Now!!

[–]RaffNFreddy 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought it would be a nice romantic letter, then I started reading it and honestly I would crumple it up and throw it in the trash.

It reads very strangely and makes ME uncomfortable. How do you think it will make HER feel?

A romantic, poetic letter to someone you know well is a different story.

Also the somewhat smart line? Yikes! That’s insulting and you know it!

I wrote a letter to a girl in highschool once. I might finally have a chance to pull that girl in December of this year. That was 15 years ago lmao. Don't give her the letter and for the love of God do not tell her how you feel. This isn't a movie or some lame tv show. You show girls you like them by fucking them, you only tell them after you show them. Instead all you have to do is invite her to do something fun that you are going to do anyways. Until then just make fun of her and work on kino escalating with her.

Super creepy that it's typed. That (and some of the language) makes it really uncomfortably formal. Like you've been watching and planning. Also don't neg her halfway through. Also weird to write a whole letter asking to be friends when that's clearly not what you want.

The end is good though. It's cool that you let her know it's ok to say "no" so she's not going to feel pressured. If you ask her in person or a letter that isn't typed, definitely keep that part.

Do not give her the letter. It is creepy and a good portion of women would be frightened by it.

It’s written far more formal than it should be and it sounds like an autistic person wrote it.

These are the problems with your letter and why it sounds autistic.

  1. Too formal
  2. Too long
  3. You typed it and printed it out
  4. You admit you have social anxiety in a strange manner
  5. Obviously lie about not having enough time to speak to her
  6. Brag about your own intelligence
  7. You insult her severely by putting asterisks around “somewhat” when referring to her intelligence

If she’s not frightened by this letter, she will be offended.

Regardless, you shouldn’t be giving women letters at all.

Great job asking on here before you embarrass yourself. Hope you’re not following through with that letter
