I just read the thread about feeling upset when you get ghosted and started wondering what you would like women to do since I don't really like ghosting people. I recently ghosted someone after a first date and I want to explain the situation and see what you all would want since this date was a pretty common one for women to experience.

We went for a walk around downtown with his dog (social distancing and all). We talked the whole time. I definitely saw some yellow flags but they were less danger and just incompatibility things. Overall it was good. His dog started feeling bad so it was a shorter walk than anticipated so we went in his house. As soon as we were in private he went for a kiss and I swerved into a hug. He then said he wanted a kiss and held my head so I couldn't swerve out of it. So I was a little annoyed but didn't leave and we continued hanging out He did that a couple more times so I got concerned and said it was time for me to go. He asked for a second date and since I already knew he wasn't good at rejection I agreed and we planned it. After the first date he texted me about his dog getting really sick and I was responding (as a vet tech) and as soon as the dog was alright I stopped responding. (Which I am sure was confusing and I feel bad about that)

He was actually really nice just very sexually aggressive and I REALLY don't play that way. If he wasn't so aggressive I would have gone on a second date without worrying. I didn't out right reject him because I felt like he would be very upset and I didn't trust him to not start being aggressive or not harass me with calls and texts trying to explain himself.

This is not the first date that has gone that way. I completely understand needing a kiss on the first date to feel like it went well but it's normally obvious when it's not just a goodbye kiss. So when I say no to that and they get mad it's an automatic no, forever. I am nice/cordial until I can end the date and then ghost. This is the way 80% of dates go for me and most women. Because it is such a large number of guys we go through before we find one we like it's hard to give everyone a thoughtful rejection when you don't know how the guy will respond. Ghosting sucks for both sides but feels safer than criticizing a man you don't trust.
