Giving up porn was surprisingly difficult, I still haven’t fully done it but I have reduced my consumption. The urges you feel are sharp and requires a lot of will power to not give in.

Its frustrating that not enough people take it seriously, I feel it’s just like any other addiction that’s hard to give up.

The hardest part about porn addiction is you can’t really replace it with anything, let’s take gaming, you could replace it with a musical instrument but porn the only substitute is a girlfriend and we can’t pull one out from a drawer!

For me personally, porn addiction led to sex addiction. As bad as it sounds, after watching a shit load of porn my entire life I eventually thought of women as simply sexual partners. This prevented me from having a solid relationship because I would have sex with any woman I could (with limits). Eventually I recognized the problem from an ex actually shitting on me for it and ended up fixing it. As long as you can still distinguish love from lust then I think that’s what’s most important.

Not beating off every day also increases your testosterone, which women become attracted to. Testosterone will automatically make you more attractive for some weird scientific reason so it is absolutely smart to cut back on the masturbation. Sex is fine daily though.

Almost all guys I know watched porn every day when they were in their teens. Pretty much everyone without a girlfriend does it. It wasn't the core reason of your problems, for most guys it doesn't affect them much. Masturbation doesn't really stop you from having friends and hobbies or trying to get a girlfriend. Why should you lose your confidence over it? The problem wasn't porn, but your self-view and shame associated with it. Anyway, as long as it works for you it is good.

I’m always happy to hear when someone makes a change in their life for the better. I think that Porn in and of itself is not an issue but (like most things when done too much) becomes a problem when you use it as an escape or a replacement for the main source of pleasure In your life. That’s when it becomes troublesome and addictive. When a person uses it as their escape from life stressors that “high” from temporary dopamine release becomes super addictive and takes over your life much like any other addiction will. Everyone needs structure and different means of working on themselves wether it be career, hobby, skills, or relationships they need different things to draw happiness and fulfillment from relying solely on any one thing can be dangerous (not to be mistaken from one thing being a main focus I.e mastering a skill, focus on school)

Thank you for being open about this topic. Porn addiction is out of control and no one wants to discuss it. Men masturbate to the point of erectile issues, their view on sex becomes completely skewed and women suffer as a result.

I don't know a single woman who would say that they weren't personally hurt by their partner's porn use, their obsessions with women who look completely different (can you imagine being in a relationship with a woman who had gigabites of porn and all the men look totally different from you? How could you possibly brush that off?), being turned down for sex only to hear their husbands up masturbating to women online claiming "it's a different kind of release", having to have painful, rough sex because his penis is desensitized by abuse? Having to know your husband watches INCEST pornography and then trusting him around your children?

This is a huge burden to put on your loving partner. I joined tinder recently and seeing these men so incredibly pornsick that they post videos of people having sex in place of their own profile picture.... I can't even believe it.

I don't know if I am in denial or I am just a virgin and don't get it but I don't think that porn affects me in any significant way. I used to live a very sedated lifestyle but I started going to the gym and running around 2 years ago and my life has never been better. My studying has been a lot better. I am also much more confident and comfortable with talking to everyone, especially girls that I kinda fancy. Still no luck though but I am working on it. Still watching porn 7 days a week, though.

This is an individualized issue. I’ve watched it every day for years now. Or at least most every day(gotta pump those numbers up!) haha

I literally haven’t seen a single negative side effect. Not to be demeaning but I’m not stupid. I know how to treat women. I don’t watch porn and think “okay time to go slap a woman around and facefuck her.” Unless that’s her forte haha

I think it’s based on underlying issues or teens doing it too often and then applying it to real people. Porn ain’t real.

I enjoy porn for what it is... as human beings, sexuality is a natural phenomenon. Violence on the other hand is bad. I’d rather watch two consenting adults go at it, then see someone being mown down by a weapon.

The problem with this, as sad as it is to admit; there's not much in the way of support groups to help people be more social nor deter those with a porn addiction when they get it, except of their own will to do better but even that's not a guarantee that'll resolve their needs for a release.

Another underlying factor is that for most people, porn is their only option for a sexual release and not many are willing to go through the weeks if not months of activities towards becoming desirable and even then they've no guarantee they'll find a person to have sex with, especially when porn is so much quicker and easier.

May be this sound counter-intuitive, but if try to masturbate without seeing porn it could disperse the addiction for a while.Trust me i did.

I masturbate myself from 9 years, so I know how addictive are this. In the past, I was spend every single days masturbating. Right Now, I do it every 8 to 12 days. May be isn't too much, but for me it an achivement.
