Now that even the staunchest believers in Male Privilege cannot deny anymore there’s a male loneliness epidemic, the gynocentric mainstream hurries to make it an occasion to pathologise men.

The cause of the epidemic, it is said, is men staying behind while women advance. Men can’t cope with their feelings, don’t know how to have healthy (not just romantic or sexual) relationships, lean too much on women, are too dominant, not empathic enough, not open enough, stay imprisoned in their toxic role. In other words: they all should go in therapy to become more like (those great) women, problem solved.

Nothing about men who are open and talk about personal things and never were dominant since their earliest youth, and still can’t find a partner. Neither anything about the special attraction dark triad (narcissistic, sociopathic, egocentric) men seem to have for a substantial percentage of women. Or about the female dating coach who ended her work because she found out most of her female clients were ridiculously selective. And least of all about the 44% of lonely men who don’t dare to approach women anymore since MeToo.

And of course there are still women suggesting the mentioning of this loneliness epidemic only proves people are more interested in men’s wellbeing because there are lonely women too.

If we’re not careful, or if we keep silent and don’t react where we can, even the acknowledgement of this male crisis will only serve as the umpteenth reason to ‘free us’ from our ‘toxic masculinity’. Don’t let that happen, let it serve as a means to make clear what really happens to men in the dating world!
