No it's not true that fuckboys are only interested in women that act hard-to-get.
Acting hard-to-get can make you seem more attractive in the early stages. But it's counterproductive if you keep up that game too long because eventually the other person may just assume you're not interested and move on.

In this situation I would confront him on his silly games. And tell him "You first begged me for my number. Then when I gave it to you - you never texted. Sorry, but I don't have time for childish games"

Cut through the bullshit. That said, you should also stop playing games. Are you interested in him or not? If you are, give him your number right away the first time he asks. Don't act hard to get.

I’m that type of guy soooo . I think he is being friendly .

I treat my friends the same way ESPECIALLY if they act “hard to get”- I presume there is no interest and nothing and no one can convince me otherwise.

I get to be me and since they have no interest - I can actually have fun with them and not worry about being forced in to something .

I like him, and I made the move first on him so he probably knows my feelings.

Some guys are really turned on by the thrill on these first initial steps. Still, you should do what feels fine for you, don't get so obsessed with getting an upper hand in your mutual dynamics. Realise what you want from him and make small steps towards it. You can't force the guy to love you by being artificially distant and uncooperative.

If what you want is emotional validation and attention, I'd avoid engaging with him at all because even if you end up going on a date or hooking up you'll probably get stuck on him and feel used.

If you just find him attractive and want to hook up, I'd say go for it.

If you want a relationship, I'd question whether someone who treats you this way is worth starting a relationship with.

We don't know him. Maybe he's afraid to escalate it. Maybe he just loves flirting/banter and likes to stay on that level. Maybe he has a girlfriend at home. Maybe he's still thinking about if it's right to date a coworker. We just don't know.

So he got your number, then lied to your face about going out. That's a major red flag. You could ask him why he hasn't asked you out when he said you and him could "go somewhere" if you want. You're probably better off moving on though. This guy is playing games.
