Feminists love to tout a book called The Gift of Fear. It basically talks about trusting your gut instinct, and that if a person gives you the creeps, there's likely something off about him or her.

The only issue is that the book assumes you're not a neurotic mess. Many women have interpreted its (or its bare-bones thesis statement of "listen to your gut") message as "all feelings you have about a person are valid, no matter if they're grounded in reality or not."
