One thing that helped me is more of a work out quote, but it applies to more things:

"The weights didn't get lighter; you got stronger'

Everyone always told me it would get better, I would 'get over' my marriage, and feel better of without her. More than two years out, it's the same stabbing, awful feeling anytime a memory comes up.

But they don't debilitate like they used too. Pains still there, it hasn't gotten any less. I'm just stronger now.

I've been there... I'm still feeling the after effects almost 18 months later. The thing that turned the ship was her declaring she had a SO.

If you're still feeding a longing for that relationship to come back, know that, even if you were to reconcile, that relationship would not come back – it would be different going forward. someone said to me, this is a perfect time to be selfish and do what you want and not have to answer to anyone.

It’s a long road for those of us who didn’t expect to divorce; they say it takes about two years to put things in a better place for you. use that time to grieve, do the things you’ve always wanted to do, become stronger mentally and physically through Counselling and gym time, connect with friends and family. no one is denying that you are finding this incredibly hard to navigate and your feelings are valid. Please don’t rely on drink or drugs, or whore-fucking around because it’s just delaying the inevitable which is to face your feelings ..But there’s no reason why you can’t have some fun!

I needed this today. I’ve been hella struggling the last few days. Just absolutly sad about how everything came to be. I haven’t felt this lost since the first few days of our separation.
