I was in the 800s. Living off credit cards and 0% apr (foolishly) believing she would cooperate and get things settled so I could use the equity to pay everything off. Now my credit is in the 600s and she has delayed everything. But after living in the basement with a curtain for a wall for over a year, I couldn’t take it.

Don't leave, stay there until the divorce is finalized. It's your home too. Sell the house, split the equity, pay off debt, start over. I did, and it sucked, but it was worth the pain.

Haha same bro. I’m at 820. I live in a high cost of living area and make 3.5x my wife’s salary. No way I can pay a mortgage and rent. I’m just sleeping in the guest room.

Getting severe anxiety just filling out this long MSA for my attorney. Putting in all the financial information I saved and invested over the years is crushing me just knowing she will get half or more. She virtually has no savings or any understanding of money. Add worrying about my kid to the mix. It’s unsettling, so I have no advice sadly.

My spouse is toxic as fuck and has BPD like personality traits. So everything is high conflict. She has a “stay with me or I will destroy your life” attitude.

If you default on the mortgage, the default will drop off your credit report after 7 years. I defaulted in 1990 and qualified for a new mortgage in 1998.

You basically become an expert at crunching numbers, also known as financial literacy. It is not that complicated. You learn about interest rates, time value of money (net present value), budgeting, cash flow, and taxes. You don’t need to be an accountant but you figure out the basics.

All of these are readily available on the internet for free.

not sure, I in fact had to destroy my credit, I was in the high 500's to low 600's for two years, haha. Back to mid 700's now.
