You may want to find a family lawyer, sounds like your kid shouldn't be left unsupervised with them either.

Yes, press charges, then go get your daughter. She's just as much yours as your ex's. You have every right to her. BUT 1st I'd go to court and file for FULL CUSTODY, But FIRST get a protection order against your ex, file an ex parte, check your states laws on parental kidnapping, and I'd also get a DNA test to ensure your daughter is actually yours. Good luck, you're going to need it.

You get assaulted, you call the cops. And it's typically DA that would file and press charges (or not), not you. You may pursue civil action, but you don't decide the criminal ... though your (un)willingness to cooperate, etc., may factor into whether other(s) (e.g. DA) decide to, or not to, pursue criminal charges. They may also consider other factors that may be relevant, e.g. how recent, how severe, history of the assailant (e.g. criminal record, arrest record, how many times the cops have been called on 'em how many times for yelling/screaming arguments, fighting, etc., and by how many folks complaining about it), evidence, etc.

You've got parental rights, but as far as access, visitation, custody, child support, etc., probably best start wit your lawyer/attorney. But if you're working 80hrs+ 6 days a week, I don't think, e.g. court, is likely to grant you a whole lot 'o access time.

And best not be doing that. Time for some anger management courses or the like? What happens if you snap on a patient, regardless of what your ex and/or patient does to you? Best nip that issue in the bud before you screw yourself over. Already enough of a mess with the ex you'd chosen and had a kid with, don't need to be making things worse.

Definitely ask your lawyer about the police's response about your baby being kidnapped. I thing they got it wrong. They don't necessarily know the law perfectly. I think you actually dodged a bullet by not marrying her. She went off the rail too soon. Usually they wait until you've already married them so you are stuck with the awful behavior.

Speak up! And yes absolutely yes file police report, get a restraining order(RO) for domestic violence (DV) and include your kid as a protected party. Men need to stop, stop being quiet about domestic abuse/gaslighting at home. I always tell everyone to end relationship in a peaceful manner but if there is abuse, YES REPORT IT!! The system will never change if we don't speak up and we(men) will be on a never ending cycle of complaining and nothing will ever get done.

I know Im Late to the comment party here but just wanted to say the above and to serve as reminder to OP to not let this slide and forget about it.

Being a hard worker professional, you shouldn't even have a dog . ( No Time).

You should settle for a stringer of baby momma's if you want kids. Because a neglected wife, half your kids won't be yours .
