This is gonna sound a lil silly but there is something called a “one minute apology” whereby you speak for one minute “apologizing” for your “role” in the events that brought you here.

My variation is you can put on the performance of a lifetime to get her to sign a “generous” deal. For it to work you have to act like you’re giving away the farm. A few tears wouldn’t hurt.

Objective is splitting the marital estate in a win-win deal. Prepare the deal by catering to her wants.

The deal I’m imagining is get out of alimony and keep your entire retirement account plus all cash stocks investments vehicles etc. In return she gets a paid off house. Adjust the deal accordingly based on your specific numbers.

The death blow for you is a long drawn out legal battle whereby she still gets the house, the alimony, and the pension.

This is only an example of out of the box thinking to mitigate risk. I’m not saying do this I’m saying maybe there is a way out by stroking her ego and giving her some shit she wants so that you save hundreds of thousands of dollars in various costs and future outlays.

Rely on the strengths that helped you build this life. This too shall pass. Hang in there and think dollars and cents rather than fear or vengeance.
