Also true of opinions, people in general have a problem with being shown they're wrong about almost anything. Probably more about self worth than identity tho I might be just splitting hairs. ;-)

You'll find this is extremely common in more than just movements too. I once knew someone who was hardcore in Windows and loved ColdFusion (programming language).

Linux and PHP were a threat to him, practically. When I could do the same stuff he did - the dude would get ANGRY.

Feminists are no different. This is why the "1 in 4 homeless are women" is ok to them. All they care about is women. They are not for equality. Anything that helps men takes away from them because, to them, women are all that matter. This is my perception of 2x I've observed.

Quite a long time ago someone trolled them pretty hard. They made up a story about a woman getting abused.. then, literally, just swapped the gender months later and the tone was very different. When it was called out they were angry about it. Last I recall - not one of them looked at themselves and realized what they had done. Instead they viewed it as an attack.

This is why their hatred of men is hard to sate. It is their identity.

It's not too dissimilar from when people leave a church. They realize, quite quickly, just how much of their identity was wrapped up in it. People who play WoW too much? Same thing.

That is why debating feminists turns very fast into aggressiveness.

It also doesn't help that women, in particular, are used to being catered to and hand held. So when the bitter cold that is reality steps up - that get very angry they weren't gently told or allowed to stay in their delusion gracefully. They are usually allowed to be lied to because they tend to favor comfort over truth. The amount of "you can do ANYTHING" when it's quite clear they cannot (e.g. imagine an overweight person being told they can climb that rock only to fall on their ass because they lack experience and the fitness to do it) means they are not used to being told "no". So they genuinely do not know their own limitations from their delusion. In which case - it's easy to see why they double down on everything that's both factually wrong and morally wrong (e.g. they care about the 1/4 homeless women but genuinely do not care about the 3/4 homeless men even when they say "equality" in the same sentence)

There's a reason there aren't many autistic feminists out there. The few that are tend to hyper-focus on one specific niche and don't step outside of that because they know the truths aren't in their favor. Autistic people also tend to have a stronger sense of justice and generally do not like hypocrisy - something feminism doesn't fit quite well in.

I think there’s more to it than that, but I think you bring up a very relevant part of that, not often addressed

I think often, arguing with a feminist is like arguing with a deeply religious person about the evidence of their god, it’s not just about what the evidence supports, it’s about the foundation of their focus in life.

If one ever got some feminists to see there is no patriarchy, that women in fact enjoy many privileges, such feminists wouldn’t know what to do with their lives. They’d have to accept self responsibility and so many other life changing ideas.

Feminism is just another religious cult, like the trad cucks religious folks that infests MensRights with religion and politics.

Whenever a post about abortion comes through I’m always pro abortion explaining how it saves men’s lives. And it gets attacked and downvoted to hell, because although 100% true, the religious trad cucks that infest the manosphere with right wing politics and religion cannot handle this sacred cows being attacked, even though their position harms men, because they don’t care about men’s rights in the slightest.

So when you point out how feminism is just commie garbage position based on racism and hate, it’s exactly like attacking any religious nut jobs. They can’t handle it and run like little children to make the bad man saying the bad things to stop!!

this is a good point to keep in the back of your mind whenever you get into a frustrating arguments online. Chances are either you, or your adversary are holding beliefs in the dicussussion as sacred gospel.

For instance, as an atheist I hold religion, or even discussions of spirituality as something niche, even trivial, that holds absolutely no value or bearing on anything worthwhile. This often bleeds through in discussions with a believer, and makes me very aware that my choice of language betrays my disdain for the banality of the debate itself. Hence, being persuasive is often elusive.

Alas, most feminists finds a victimhood narrative tied to their gender as the central beacon in which to guide their ideology with religious fervor so its often hard to get anywhere.

Unless you are talking about something the other doesn't give a shit about anyway is very unlikely you are able to change someone's mind specially when talking with feminists after all they have a material interest in not changing their mind, because having privileges over men fucking rocks and when someone come to you and tell you that you should have less stuff so men (other people who aren't you) can break away from discrimination and disadvantages they face, you probably won't accept that deal.
