Try read books which woman most buy. The men is rich, give her all money, unlimited credit card, hot, muscle, abs 6 packs, look like model, serve her, treat her like queen, chase her even if she say no. Men in reality, she say no => you chase her. She call police, make a tiktok story, sue your ass. You lost friends, career, reputation. Here a bonus: You are a creep, a predator, you are why woman choose bear, you are proof men are dangerous, abuser.

Whilst there examples of men write women badly, it’s usually in books people don’t really read. The annoying part is that they like to claim bad writing when a woman is portrayed negatively. Like a nagging wife is a badly written woman because they apparently don’t exist.

You kind of see the same thing on AITA or relationship subs, they call it fake.

A few years ago, a short story called "Cat Person" was published in the New Yorker and went viral. It was a fantastic story - a stream of consciousness piece written from the perspective of a young female college student working at a movie theater. She becomes friendly with an older male patron, and they strike up a largely virtual relationship, which eventually culminates in an awkward date and lousy sex. She then ghosts him, after which he insults her.

It was beautifully written, and very captivating. A central theme running throughout the story was how there was all this stuff going on in the narrator's head - about the date, about the sex...etc. The guy, who had called himself a "cat person", showed no insight into what was going on in her head, and never seemed to ask. At the same time, it was glaringly obvious to me that the same was true of the main character! She not only showed no insight, she never asked, and seemed quite content to slot in whatever insight he gave her into whatever preconceived notions she had.

I read it several times, and was quite convinced that the author was making a very explicit point that the lack of communication and insight went both ways - that the narrator was just as narcissistic and awkward and uncommunicative and insensitive as the "cat person", and was just as blind to it. I thought the main point of the story was irony: that both the narrator and the cat person, encapsulating both the male and female perspectives, were equally critically flawed in those perspectives.

Months later, the author gave an interview, and it turns out, not only was she not making this point, it never even occurred to her to make it. She was just as narcissistic and awkward and uncommunicative and insensitive as the narrator in her story, and just as blind to it. Turns out the point of the story was that men are bad and women need to be on guard for how shitty they are.

I don't think this detracts from the value of the story - but to me, it really epitomizes how one-sided the conversation is in pop culture, and how unfair. You don't get to give yourself carte blanche for acting like an asshole just because a guy is older than you, and you're not off the hook for treating him like shit just because, after-the-fact, he calls you a whore.

One or two comments and it's just a deluge of downvotes

But any more disagreement and you risk a ban

And I don't even mean espousing any ideology. It's simple stuff like "I don't agree this is an example of a badly written/drawn woman and here's why".

As expected, it's an echo chamber.

When Warren Farrell wrote "Women Can't Hear What Men Don't Say" he got the title wrong. It should have been "Women Won't Hear What Men Do Say".

They feel they can say whatever they want to us. We have to cater and pander to them endlessly and yet it’s never enough.

I can’t tell you how many times a woman has said to me “ because you’re a MAN. Because you’re a GUY”.

God forbid I ever point out something about them being a women. Right away they fly off the handle.

I see so many women complain about „men writing women“ but I see none of them complaining about „women writing men“ cause if you criticise this you‘re probably get called misogynistic.

I get that men don‘t know the complete experience of woman and vice versa. We also tend to create an idealised version of them when writing. However, this is a human thing to do yet only men get criticised for it (or at least women are the loudest complaining about it).

Can't deny great women when they come along of course but reality exists people, men have done pretty great in regards to writing about something they almost never have any idea about.

Yet women still complain, THATS why the sub exists and one for men doesn't. Most men really don't care and just won't watch/read/listen to whatever they don't enjoy. Women on the other hand need everything catered to them lately and because of that they throw a nuke every time any writer does a haphazard job on a woman character/s.

Good observation. I get the sense that women just don't care because by and large they dictate the terms of engagement.
