Objectification is just a word to make it sound worse than it is. Everyone loves looking at humans they are attracted too. There are actual celebrities read thirst tweets videos most which are made by women, look up any photo of Tom Hiddleston/Chris Hemsworth/Chris Evans or any other attractive movie star. They do the exact same but apparently its not the same. Its not objectifying for men to look at a pretty woman on screen same way its not for women who look at men.

Here I will only highlight that the first picture used in the page to illustrate the concept is a photo of a bikini contest, in which clearly the contestants weren't forced to objectify themselves at gunpoint.

its the reduction of someone to their use, so for instance I would say a man who pumps and dumps a woman is treating her like a tool, yet somehow when I say that a man being conned into buying women free meals for a chance of trying to be with her he is not being objectified....

i guess some example outside of dating would be valuing women only for their capacity to have children and men only for their capacity to be a provider for a family, a tax payer for the state or a soldier for a war, no one is forcing women to have children, even with the Roe vs Wide stuff that was going on in America, yet men are expected if not demanded to be providers, protectors and cannon fodder for society, hell, even those articles and post and people bitching and saying that only x amount of people would be fit to serve in the army or that x amount of men are not approaching women anymore or marrying are promoting "objectification" of men, yet we are supposed to be better objects instead of rejecting that shit....

Finding someone attractive doesn’t mean that you’re objectifying them. Objectification is if you dehumanize them and treat them solely as objects of sexual desire.

It's like the way the word exploitation is used. I hear a million times women are being exploited, even though whatever it is, they're doing it willingly. Like with pornography they use it all the time. How are women being exploited by pornography? Men have to pay for it to fill a void in their life that women get for free. There's socially awkward men who spend their entire life savings just to be with women or even just talk to women and see them naked. If anything, it's men that are being exploited. If women are forced into prostitution in a third world country or something, then that's different, of course. But that's kidnapping or human slavery.

Of course people are object and/or things, so everyone objectifies other people all the time. We look at things (objects) around us including other people and assess what we see. Is it a threat? Is it friendly? Is the person we see someone we might be attracted to or interested in? To view things and make such assessments is human nature. If humans didn’t assess others for sexual attraction, none of us would be here. It’s nothing anyone should apologize for.

"Evil begins when you treat people as things" - I.e. Use them as means to ends rather than ends in-and-of-themselves. Feminists focus on sexual objectification, which is real. The issue is that they ignore is all other forms of objectification.

When you order a pizza, you are treating the Pizza delivery boy as an object, as a thing which is useful for moving pizza from one point to another. From this example we can see how difficult building a society without objectification is.

When pressed on the issue, feminists will admit to the sexual objectification of men, but have a series of retorts:

"It's not harmful (sometimes absolutely, sometimes comparitively) like the objectification of women."
"It's actually caused by the partriarchy, thus men are at fault."
"Male privellage makes objectification a choice for men, but a necessity for women"

It's bullshit that exists to shame male sexuality.

I'm posting a comment that is about video games and other adjacent media on another subreddit and how there is constant complaints about objectification which has lead to uglification of female characters.

That's because they don't have a problem with scantily clad women. What they hate is the sexuality of men that are, or that they believe to be, unattractive. They see good looking women in video games and think it's for unattractive men. That makes them aware that unattractive men exist, which they hate. The reason they don't walk around furious in a world where they think 80 percent of men are unattractive is because they do not visually process unattractive men unless forced to. Now the men who bitch about this do it cause they have been indoctrinated so it's ideology plus virtue signaling for career and to say to women that they're one of the good men so please don't hate me and have sex with me.
