Competence Kills or Be Good At That Voodoo That You Do So Well!
Competence, while it is often overlooked in favor of its sexy cousin, Confidence, absolutely SLAYS. Anything that removes female anxiety and lets them operate from their “girlfriend brain” or their "sexy brain", we want that because girlfriends are fun and sexy and spontaneous, and prone to doing things like giving us road head.
While we think about sports and pussy, women create a bunch of scenarios in their heads and think about “What would I do if…” and “What would happen to me if…?” If you are a Man With a Plan, the humidity level in her panties is going to rise.
Some examples:
Scene 1:
Back in the 90s, I had a 22 y.o. gf who got into a car accident. It wasn't her fault - she got rear-ended (Me: "Hey! That's my job!" /heh) but she was super anxious about bringing it in to have it looked at by the other driver's insurance co. (Plot Twist: they were going to total it, ofc, which I knew.) Bringing it in was a formality, but not to her. She kept getting increasingly worked up about it.
Her: "I am young and female and they are going to try to screw me up against a wall!"
Me: "Again, my job. But as you are so worried about it, I should point out that you are banging a lawyer. I will go with you and handle everything," which I did. She immediately relaxed ofc. Sex ensued. Yay! I went with her to the appointment, handled everything as I said, which made her feel relaxed and taken care of. So we get back to my flat and she jumped me as soon as we walked in the door. Made all those exams in law school seem worth it, somehow.
Scene 2:
Years later, another gf discovered my toolbox – I’m a white collar guy, but one with a toolbox – in the (finished) basement of my then house - I didn't keep her locked in the cellar, although that did have a certain appeal. /heh
I had taken it out in advance of doing a minor repair on the water filtration system - nothing much just fixing a hose. She asked me to open it and show her my tools, which I did. I explained the functions of the various tools (hammer and screwdriver she knew; the socket wrench was a revelation). I also pointed out some things I had used them to fix around the house. As she seemed interested I asked her if she wanted to watch me do the repair, so I did it then. Simple as. I mean, I'm not going to plumb a house but I know what I'm doing on what men regard as normal, "garden variety" repairs/maintenance.
Scene 3:
I was on a double date with my then-gif (the “Hotness” from the TRP Guide to Dating Models), and it was the first time I had met the other couple (she was primarily friends with the girl). The waiter brought the wine list and, as I perused it, she said to her friends, “Watch this. He is a wine expert.” I do not regard myself as a wine expert, but I know what I like, I am conversant in terroirs and varietals, and really, in the Land of the Blind the man with one eye is king. So I took them through how to taste a wine and why I did certain things. The Hotness beamed with “Look how smart my boyfriend is!”
On another occasion, double date with the same couple, the girls wanted to do vodka shots so we got a small bottle and proceeded. The other guy and I could take shots and not grimace of have to finish in two sips.
The Hotness: “How can you DO that?!”
Me: “Simple. We’re men.”
Now it was her friend’s bf’s turn to beam as he was definitely the “little brother” but I had included him anyway. He later tipped the bottle over by accident and I quickly righted it and mopped up the spill and said, “I would like to thank Henry, who clearly did that so I would not be exposed as a lightweight by the end of the bottle.” There was no point in bitching him out; he already knew he had been clumsy, but instead of doing so I used humor to alleviate a social faux pas. We had a laugh about it and the evening continued in a positive way.
Scene 4:
I was traveling in Eastern Europe. Might have been Romania, might have been Ukraine. There were storms and my flight had been canceled so I arranged a car to take me to my next destination. This was back in the Bad Old Days before Uber and such, and it was too late in the evening to arrange for a train and I had to be there on the next day, and a friend’s cousin had a car. I was texting my admin when I had coverage to make some arrangements that needed to be made and she was asking about conditions which I described and then added “I think I just saw a werewolf.” She replied with, “You know, I really admire that you never lose your sense of humor no matter what the situation is. And also your survival skills.” Basically she meant that I don't blow my cool and I am good at "recovery" when operations go bad.
Scene 5:
I used to play co-rec volleyball on my company’s team. We had a guy who had been a scholarship athlete (for volleyball – who knew?) and then a guy from Brazil who grew up playing beach volleyball (he came to about half the games) and then me, and then, well, nobody good. Brian, our scholarship player, was up first for service, and…buried one into the net. Ugh. They served, scored a couple, we had a girl up next and lost service, they scored some more, and by the time it was my turn we were down like 9 to 2 (dynamic scoring, so there is a point on every play, not just if you are serving.) Brazil hadn’t shown up for that game, and so after me there was a whole lot of not much.
Did I mention this was the championship match? Well it was. We were tied 1-1 in games and this was the final game. So I thought it over, chose my spots, didn’t just try to launch the ball directly at the Fat Girl or the Clumsy Guy on the other team each time. Sometimes I served overhand, sometimes I launched the ball skyward underhand, like a lazy pop fly that winds up dropping between the outfielders. Mostly I chose spots between players on the other side and got a fair number of aces, but my strategy was “Make them hit it back” because the other team was made up of corporate types too. Before they broke my service, I wound up dropping 17 straight points on them, and my teammates were chanting my nickname at the start of each serve. Sort of “Bad News Bears” meets volleyball, I guess. Now, bottom line, it’s just a volleyball game, but sometimes soft skills help and word got around the office about how I “won the title” for them. Now I hadn’t really, but I just kept cool and did my job.
Scene 6:
I had a summer fling with a stripper who was visiting NY to spend time with her mom after her dad passed. She wasn’t dancing in NY but I figured it out somehow. Anyway, about 6 months later, she is back in Texas, and I was going to be in Florida for back to back conference, Wednesday to Wednesday. I thought, "How great would it be to have Fawn here over the weekend? Pretty great, actually.
So I flew her in.
I arranged her ticket and picked her up at the airport. She greeted me with a warm embrace/kiss and told me, as she locked up my arm in hers that she had worried on the plane about “What if this happens?” or “What if that happens?...what would I do?” and then she realized, “I’m going to see Vaz; he will handle EVERYTHING!”
Her anxiety brain turned off and her sexy brain turned on. A fun time was had by all.
Takeaways
-Competence SLAYS!
-Competence comes in many forms. Might be white collar, might be blue collar, might be just being able to solve problems.
-Competence removes female anxiety and that is good news for you.
