Im reaching out as I'm in a bit of a low spot and really struggling mentally on how to turn myself around.

Now that my divorce is over and I have my new place, I have been struggling with my weight. Im by no means obese, however a comment made by my son yesterday hit a nerve. We were sat on the sofa and his head was resting on my stomach and he said it was all soft and gooey! That's not where I want to be in my life and I would like to get in decent shape!

Im 39years old, 186cm (6ft 1in) tall, medium build but not muscly.

I have always been around 76kg, however in the past 6 months I have shot up to 83kg. Before things get out of hand and I spiral in to something thats hars to recover from i could use some guidance.

I have started to diet, however my hunger is awful and even when I'm full I can carry on eating. If I dont eat, I start to bite my nails again which is a habit I had finally kicked just before my divorce.

I have started to cycle to and from work again 15 mile round trip and going out for runs in the evening... however I just cant seem to silence this hunger (if it is hunger).

I work long hours as I'm in a very senior role, so even exercise during the day is not an option. I start work at 7am , normally finish between 5 and 6 pm, going to the gym isnt really an option as I don't have that spare capital each month.

I cook most if not all my meals, mainly Lentil curries, bombay potatoes, grilled chicken, greens and veg, so I would consider myself to have a balanced diet. However I do have a weakness for sweet things and when the kids are at their mums, I have been know to devour a pack of custard creams they left behind 🤣.

Any suggestions you guys may have are welcomed. I dont want a fat bod!
