I know I’m not the only one who has been through this, and I feel like I’m getting off easier than others but still. It’s been a year since my ex and I split up and a few months since the divorce has been finalized, and while there have been some bright spots, my life has been all but turned upside down. I was sent to the hospital for over a month literally the day after she moved out, my finances were in shambles before I went out of commission for six weeks so my credit score is in the gutter, like an idiot I traded the car for the apartment, which now the lease is up and guess who can’t afford said apartment on a single income? Rent is astronomical and the few places I can afford are in just god awful neighborhoods or are just shitty all around, and i can’t move back with my mom because we’d drive each other insane a week into it. I would love to say I’d get a second job but haha, no car and I live basically in the boonies.

My ex was not the greatest but I can’t help but think about my hand in the marriage falling apart. I should’ve done more around the house, i should’ve taken her out more, I should’ve been more attentive. Instead I was so hyper focused on building my career and trying to get us a house that I didn’t see she was pulling away til it was too late. Now my career is stalled, my health is shit (which is great bc it matches my credit), and soon I’m about to lose my place and probably be on the street. It sucks. If I could go back in time, you know? Hindsight’s 20/20 and that shit feels crystal clear. Whatever, I just needed to vent. I should get back to the job hunt, here’s hoping I can find a job and get onboarded within two weeks that’ll pay enough to get me to stay haha
