I agree with your critique, but I think most people in the MHRM already know he wasn't an MHRA and that he was a tradcon.

I'm glad you agree that his murder was a political and personal tragedy, however. The recent rise in political violence is truly quite frightening.

Absolutely agree with your position. MR shouldn't be pro-conservative; it should be pro-men's issues and a space where logic, facts and science are used. Shooting innocent people will always be bad, but it is also true that Charlie Kirk promoted bad ideas and was brainwashing many Americans, which elected an orange idiot.

Kirk’s murder is a tragedy and he wasn’t really for man’s rights, but he wasn’t a gynocentrist. So you could say he was an altruist or a collectivist, where he only cares if men provide value for others or society.

It doesn't really matter what his position was, or whether you agree with him or not. Anyone who cheers for this person's death has serious mental problems and is an extremist. A lot of his views were very outdated and vile, and definitely going against every basic principle of gender equality, but anyone who thinks he deserved to die because of it is infinitely worse.

George Rockwell, the founder of the American Nazi Party, gave one of the last speeches he made before his assassination at the college I went to (though it was long before I was born). He wound up being argued with, laughed at, and eventually walked out on- but only because he couldn't defend his terrible ideas and had no recourse but to bellow insults. While he was, by all accounts, invited as a middle finger to the administration (which was NOT happy about his coming), he was heard out, and given a proper chance to explain and defend his ideas; becoming a laughingstock only when it became clear he couldn't, but still wouldn't stop pushing them.

Now, another man with terrible ideas has been murdered, and at a time when political hysteria has reached a seeming apex, due largely to the fact that people don't even bother to TALK to each other any more, political violence seems to be rearing its ugly head again. Scary times.

He wasn’t a men’s rights activist and didn’t claim to be. Certainly, some of his very religious, very traditional family views are not what many men these days seek. (Certainly not me)

He was however a huge opponent and critic of woke identity politics, DEI and other such policies of discrimination. While his anti-discrimination activism in this regard wasn’t specific to men, it’s certainly in line with what many MRAs have been fighting for.

Where I work, most men have been eliminated from top management positions and replaced with minority women. This is precisely the kind of discrimination he’s argued against. He has repeatedly said people should be selected based on merit, not their sex or race. Again, while this may not be male advocacy specifically, it’s certainly consistent with the kind of discrimination many MRAs seek to end.

Agree or disagree with him, he certainly didn’t deserve to be killed and I doubt the motivation for doing so had anything to do with men’s rights.

After all the political violence, physical abuse, threats, lawlessness, and dehumanising rhetoric they have pushed and participated in for a decade, they now want people to not criticise, pay respect, be silent, be kind, and not kick the poor fella when he's down because murder is bad and its in bad taste, blah blah.
