I believe most women if they want can go on a date everyday. Of course, they may not have the best experiences or even get the best men to take them out. However, is it all that bad? In comparison how many dates can most men get in that same time period, let alone over a lifetime.

I have many girl friends who have never not been in a relationship or situationship or the time for them being single is very short.

My guy friends however can go months without even a date, let alone a relationship and those in a relationship will do anything to not lose it, in fear of the barren desert that was their single life.

I think there are signs that, It sort of creates a power dynamic, that not many talk about, of course you can enforce boundaries or end the relationship should the woman be abusive but emotions don’t usually work like that. A sort of “between a rock and a hard place”, for a lot of men. Leave and be single for years or stay, bend the knee and take what you can get.

Whilst women may leave a relationship or potential partner over the smallest infringement, especially with the mantra of “you deserve xyz” and “know your worth”.

Even outside of a relationship I can see, maybe I am wrong but an intense feeling for men to “measure up”, to get things right, to be a certain caricature and try his best to avoid causing discomfort or to give a woman everything she wants on demand and if they can’t it’s best to give up.

So what will the future have in store for this widening gap in prospects and romantic experiences between men and women?
