Probably, but if they object to the women's activity they will receive negative attention. I e. Refusing to listen to staff, refusing to investigate further etc etc.

I'm not a lawyer, but I imagine it's cheaper and better for their image to just spend the time on each complaint. People are replaceable after all, why run the risk of legal action if you can just kick someone out?

But it's not new, the 'always keep your office door open' when in a meeting with a woman is a very old piece of advice. Although you have to keep it open for all genders, unless you want to be accused of discrimination.

I am in a supervisor position and the rule we go by is never address a subordinate alone, positive or negative. It used to be correct in private and praise in public; however, that led to complaints so now it’s correct with at least 1 or 2 witnesses. It’s a bit awkward because I’ll be brought into a room just to sit there while someone gets corrected or even rewarded.

One job I had I went to this new department and I had a trainer. The first thing he told me about the job was be careful from these women they will go to hr on you for anything.

I couldn't believe it. I actually years later fought for equality in the workplace despite knowing this and I won. I called out the company and it's sexist practices and they were forced to change policies.

Yep. Happened to me. This lady was in love with me and I rejected her because I was in love with somebody else and told her as much. Jilted, she went to HR and made up a bunch of stuff. There was no evidence since it was all made up, but they still clearly believed her because she’s a woman and made something else up so they could fire me. But yeah no I don’t think workplaces are aware, and if they are, they don’t care, because they aren’t justice warriors, they are trying to protect the company, and have to weigh who has most probability to sue, and at-will employment disadvantages the man in these scenarios, sooo…they’re backing the woman and there is no recourse for the dude. P.S. I hope I’m not writing a playbook for evil women to read. ..but they already seem to have the playbook, nevermind.

They falsify b/c they realise their feelings alone are not justification-enough to have someone they don't like punished & like many mechanisms built into the system there are cheat-codes for women to make it happen anyway

Feminists got started working on this programming decades ago with the push that became pretty big in the 90s that women should always be believed (the context was in relation to SA) - going against the grain of presumption of innocence (unless proven guilty)

HR is very easy, no-risk access for them to fuck men over in ways that can't happen as easily in general society, short of faking a metoo tweet. And with great power comes great respo...corruption

Yup... though its not all that silent. I was hauled up in front of HR because one of the women I worked with said I had "offensive body language", all because I wasn't all personally friendly with her when I was with a couple of the other women (very close friends of years).

I asked HR if she ws seeing serious and she said she was... so I asked did she really feel as though it was a HR matter whome I choose to be personal friends with, and she claimed because I wasnt friends with this specific person I was "excluding" her.

I never actuslly believed Id get a fair go... the HR bint was openly and profoundly homophobic.

Happened to me. So embarrassing. I turned over 55 pages of texts to prove my case. They sided in my favor and the false reporter even admitted to HR it was false and she was upset that after a project ended we weren't as close. Of course nothing happened to her. And still I was told not to do anything that could appear retaliatory. They made me continue attending 1:1s which leaves me so vulnerable because there's no witnesses and she could make up another claim. I was told that if I stop going to the 1:1s it'd be seen as retaliatory against her. Like, didn't she retaliate against me simply because a project ended and we weren't talking as much? So fucked up.

While it seems like a "no win" situation, this is why I stay FAR AWAY from the females in the workplace. I'd already dealt with this malarkey in my mid 20's. Now in my mid-30's I'm careful about who I talk to in the workplace and what I say. It's too easy to get in trouble now and again. Plus, HR is not for you. The only humans they resource are the coporation that you work for. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ive been in trouble more than once for basically just being friendly towards women in the work place. Any time its your word vs a woman's, you are in trouble unless you can prove it. Thankfully the times I was accused I could actually prove I was being honest and they had wildly exaggerated, but its very stressful.

So now im just professional and dont attempt to be friends because its just not worth it.

HR isn’t there to help the complainants. It’s there to help the company and the managers, which is why they created HR. More often than not, HR will try to invalidate or discredit any complaint made.

- Showing more comfort around male coworkers

- Not playing pretend and going to lunch/break with them if they have a crush

- Not gossiping with them

- Not sharing your personal life
