Same-sex activity is a crime in 65 countries (this article might be slightly outdated, because it says 64).

In 23 of those countries, only male same-sex activity is illegal. Also, in countries where both male and female same-sex activity is illegal, the penalties are sometimes harsher for male same-sex activity.

The trend has been towards the number of countries where same-sex activity is illegal decreasing. However, in recent years, a few countries have passed laws making same-sex activity illegal, sometimes for the first time, and sometimes recriminalizing it.

At the same time, the number of countries in The Americas where it's illegal has been quickly shrinking in the last few years due to court decisions.

I agree. Although lesbian women are treated poorly by the patriarchy, at least queer women are treated as a she. But as a man who is queer, I feel like I am treated and seen as an it. Being treated as a she is hard, but it beats being treated as an it, being seen as subhuman. I also feel as though in popular media queer women have much more positive representation than queer men do. I also find it rather interesting that despite the equal distribution of men and women, according to polls only 6% of men identify as LGBTQ+ vs 10% of women who identify this way. Why is there a 4% in the US? A difference that makes up about 13,600,000 people. I believe that it is because in American culture queerness, dignity and womanhood are allowed to coexist. But for a man to be queer is the ultimate sin. And I do also find it interesting that Misandrists accuse queer men of "victim Olympics" whilst the misandrists make up the bourgeois class. Yet these pseudofeminists still complain, the men who are oppressors of women are not the proletarians nor are they queer men. They are theocratic fascist bourgeois men, whom these pseudofeminists marry and worship.

As a lesbian, I don't like how queer media and rhetoric, especially queer feminist rhetoric tries to paint sapphic relationships and attraction as something more "pure", and infantile, in a way. Male sexuality, especially male attraction towards women is always framed as just *bad*. I find it so funny because trust me when I see women like Sydney Sweeney on tv or on the front page of my social media I have the same reaction as a lot of straight guys do. I wonder if queer feminists hear themselves and realize that they have their own weird form of lesbian fetishization going on...but of course it is necessary for them. Everything comes down to a antagonistic revision of everything men do. And as a woman I actually find the idealization and "women are wonderful" generalization of my gender by feminists insulting, cuz it implies I am not a human with my own agency who is capable of both bad and good. There is no patriarchy controlling me.

A huge problem of mine is that the left is attracted to the AESTHETIC of being oppressed and intersectionality has only been use in bad faith for people to stack oppression cards, along with making the wrong assumptions that every possible axis of marginalization is equal. (disclaimer: everything I say will be from an American centric view because that's honestly all I can speak for)

IE: I'm a lesbian. Yeah, I guess I'm a "sexual minority" but if I were to be real, living in a blue state in America my identity doesn't oppress me or make my life harder day to day in any meaningful way. Most people don't give a shit. Yeah, you got crazy Christian conservatives saying crazy Christian conservative things but for the most part they are fringe.

I encourage people to look into material conditions. I'm not saying to take Marx as bible or anything- I disagree with a lot of what he says but the concept of material conditioners is a an eye opener because I think the left has really derailed from recognizing what actually makes people's lives harder from a point of societal survival and are instead obsessed with again, playing pokemon with identity cards.

And you can see how this is important in debunking feminist narratives, as the unfair social responsibilities and burdens put on the average man are further amplified in our current capitalist society. Look at who is more likely to take on life-threatening jobs. Look at who is pressured to be breadwinner, and women are guilty of reinforcing that social pressure too, one out of many points to debunk the narrative that we simply live in a society where all men are somehow in some conspiracy to oppress some women in a mythical patriarchy. When in reality, we're in some kind of oligarchy that if it's anything close, it's a pseudo-patriarchy, where most billionaires are men, but their wives and children get to passively enjoy the spoils of their wealth.

Women are more likely to be targeted through capitalism through consumption, walk into your average mall. They spend more on average. Men are more likely to be targeted through exploiting their physical labor, and at the worst times, their lives become cannon fodder.

It's okay to practice intersectionality, even when focusing on Men's Issues.

That comment wasn't whataboutism rhetoric intended to take away from the issue at hand, it was to provide context to show what exactly the issue at hand is.

The reason why noting that queer men are explicitly oppressed through the law while queer women are implicitly oppressed by the law is important, is because it shows a very blatant dichotomy between how gender is approached throughout the world and gives insight on how we approach these topics.

There are already people dismissing the oppression that women face in these same locations which inaccurately depicts the reality of the world and the roots of the problem. If we don't address these issues holistically then we cannot successfully find solutions to the problem for the benefit of men.

We must see both sides of the coin before we decide to melt it down.
