Saw an instagram reel like this where a woman said men/all men (don't remember the specifics/same difference) deserves the above and more because ONE boomer dude made a nasty comment on one of her pics. And if that wasn't bad enough, they were even piling on the men supporting her in the comments! Like men would say "fuck this dude, we don't take him" and the women in the replies would say "take responsibility for your whole gender". First of all, wtf, how is that fair? Second, dude is already disavowing, what more can we do?

Same here, and I admit that I'm growing quite bitter about it. I've been leaving leftist spaces on reddit and unfollowing creators on YouTube because of their misandry. My algorithms are flooding me with man hating content as well, and I've lost so many communities that I thought were safe.

It's painful, and I'm sorry that you're seeing so much of it too. I don't think confronting them would be a good idea; even if you were polite in your response, you'd be just another evil man in their eyes. They don't want to be educated, they just want to hurt people. Honestly, these types of people are no better than the right-wingers that they claim to hate. Attacking innocent people for the crime of being born the "wrong" way is what bigots do. And misandrists are certainly bigots, no matter how progressive they tend to be.

BUT! The most sickest thing I've come across last year was on Instagram and Threads. It's an innocent video at a party where the guests are playing this game of getting a hula hoop to the end of the human chain but you have to get it there while keeping hold of the persons hand. At this party they did 'men vs women'. The men took like a minute to get the hula hoop to the end as they gradually slid it down. While the women had a different strategy of just all walking through the hoop one by one which they achieved in seconds. A funny and innocent video was all of a sudden turned into an agenda on female supremacy and misandry. Even a non-profit organisation that I previously supported reposted this with the caption "This is why women run the world. They get the job done!" And there are gross hateful comments like "This is why the world is in shambles. Women will make it better and run it better". This made me so angry. How freaking dare they take this fun and innocent video and turn it into this propaganda?

It was a video of boys and girls doing a march, the boys were messing around while the girls were doing it properly and seriously. You know, kids being kids, and it's also an interesting example of how at that age girls mature faster than boys, which we've known since forever. But no, apparently from that short video of kids messing around people in the comments can glean entire takeaways of how men are the inferior gender and are literal toddlers who can't even handle their own lives and responsibilities, and a whole bunch of other shit. Because a funny video of kids being silly is a totally valid experimental setting where you can draw these wide and far reaching conclusions about a topic as complex as behaviour differences among the genders in adults.

Note that I scrubbed metadata from the link that exposed my buddy's Instagram account before I pasted it into this comment, so the comments he saw may not be there when you go to that reel via this link. You're just going to have to trust me that they were there.

The rise of online misandry, as we’re all perceiving it, correlates just about perfectly with a well-documented crash in the mental health of young women.

Misandrist women usually aren’t doing well in life. On the occasions I’ve engaged with them online and offline (don’t do this), I’ve found that they project a lot, tend to lack self-awareness, are quite reactive and overall seem to be quite irresponsible. You can’t really help people like this, they don’t really want to be helped. The best you can do is maybe make fun of them à la “we don’t call women losers enough” but even then, how much energy do you really have?

There is a quite persistent expectation that men be the subject of vitriol and somehow just brush it off. It’s not realistic, it absolutely will have an impact on you. The sad truth is that, until social media companies and governments take action, it will continue whether any of us want to or not.

Meaningful change doesn’t come through putting out misandrist fires online, it comes from people like us having grass roots conversations with the more reasonable people in our lives and influential people like Richard Reeves having conversations with the political class.

So for now you’re very welcome to vent about it here. All that can be done to change the state of play is to keep having conversations, keep amplifying better messaging and keep supporting the big players like Mark Banks, TTM and Richard Reeves.

As someone already mentioned on here, a similar thing was made out of boys and girl's marching exercise.

It seems that 'women's empowerment' cannot be achieved without putting down men, even just boys in this case.

If you have to put someone down in order to raise yourself, that is just insecurity.

Funny how they ignore the Under 15's boys football teams destroying women's pro teams or the island exercise where men were able to assemble and organise whereas the women fell apart, no let's just be black and white about it and judge 'superiority' based on silly little games. Again this is insecurity and a coping mechanism out of an inferiority complex.

Men and women work better in a team, absolutely no one is superior to the other. That is TRUE equality. Respecting and appreciating one another. Feminists still don't understand what the meaning of 'equality' is despite telling everyone they believe in it.

they want to gain power, but without being the disposable gender. male disposability underpins the male power in patriarchy. for women to gain power, they need to be disposable. they need to not only compete for power with men, but also with their fellow women too. and they do not want to do it. they refuse to be disposable.

Talking past each other on every platform is the norm, I think. I’ve had friends spend a week binging brain rot, and they come back repeating absurd stuff like it’s gospel because they’re hooked on junk content. I’m a despicable person myself, sure, but I’m not miserable enough to want to see my “perceived opponents” fall on a rhetorical blade for all men in some kind of ritualistic retribution.

Men can, will, and have harmed people, but that’s a broad category. I’ve also seen how quickly the conversation shifts depending on what’s convenient—gender is treated as fluid and socially constructed in one breath, and then “men” are treated like a single, unified bloc of power in the next. That framing feels outdated and reductive. It flattens people into a caricature and ignores how varied individual experiences, incentives, and circumstances actually are. If the goal is to have any kind of honest conversation, it probably starts with dropping the idea that any one group moves as a monolith and acknowledging that reality is messier than that.

It’s still important to voice our opinions regardless. There’s only so much we can do to remind people that we’re not living in each other’s skin, but that doesn’t mean the effort is pointless. We can still have productive, individual conversations without isolating ourselves into camps that refuse to engage. Not everyone is a malicious freak waiting for us to implode under the weight of our own ideas. A lot of people genuinely see things differently, or just don’t have the context or ability to articulate themselves in long, careful ways. That doesn’t automatically make them enemies, and treating them like they are just pushes everything further into noise instead of understanding.

I have deleted most social media's already, I also deleted my old reddit account, after I went ham because of the casual sexsisem that I see every day, every lie that gets repeated and then used to push even more hate.

So I can totally understand that you're overwhelmed, this whole thing is just confusing it makes no sense, but talking about it helps and also distracting yourself sometimes with happy things helps, honestly I have major problems doing that my self but taking a break is important.

I'm glad that there are people who get invested and care for other people and that's something beautiful and I thank you for that but, look after yourself if you get overwhelmed take a break and collect yourself so you don't go mad.

One thing I think is really weird is how Ghyslaine being in prison is seen as proof of misogyny, even though the only man with the same rank in the sex trafficking ring is dead.

If anything, it is proof of misandry.

When a man knows too much about Trump's depravity, he is extrajudicially executed.

When a woman knows too much about Trump's depravity, she is given extra special treatment in her minimum security prison so that she won't snitch.
