The parental alienation thing isn't something we talk about often enough.

My mom did it to my dad... BIG TIME. She was vicious ...

The problem is it's not a crime and even if it was it would be difficult to prove.

Not only do women not police each other here, they actively encourage it.

You should also tell your kids. I wish my dad would have told me his side of the story. Especially, when what my mom was doing was wrong.

What my dad did was give up. My sister and he had a discussion and she said she's never abandon her kids like he did with her and he apologized and said that he didn't feel he had any choice.

Also, I would go on the offensive if you can. I don't think it's legal to require documentation that the child support is ACTUALLY being given to the kids which is a HUGE part of the problem.

Men REALLY suck at fighting for themselves and now we have a generation of fathers that are paying for it - literally.

I can't speak to personally reconnecting. I had this type of experience from the pov of the child. For whatever reason, even as a little kid, the brainwashing and the indoctrination just never worked on me. My mother was a demon and my father was an angel. She destroyed our family, made so much of my life hell, and the same for my dad. The regarded courts forced us to live with her, but I left as soon as I was able. And today I haven't spoken to that dumb bitch in years and as I write this I'm literally I'm in a hotel enjoying a vacation with my old man.

Child support should not exist in cases where both parents want custody.

There’s no other situation in a divorce or dissolution of any other contract where both parties want something to which they have an equal claim, a court determines who gets that thing, and then the party who got the thing both parties wanted is additionally granted massive financial compensation.

It’d literally be more consistent with how the law works generally for the payments to go in the other direction. Imagine if the person who didn’t get the house not only didn’t get half the equity but also had to pay the property taxes. That’s how ridiculous the logic of child support is.

In cases where one parent doesn’t want custody, then yes it does make sense because in that case the custodial parent is the only reason the non-custodial parent isn’t committing criminal neglect.

Also, the argument that it benefits the kids is absurd. Child support doesn’t add money into a child’s support system, it just shuffles it around within it. It also provides massive disincentives to increase earnings for both parents, and is the single best way to ensure the post-divorce parental relationship is as adversarial as possible.

Giving one parent the pros of having kids and the other the cons is in no way fair or just.

Moved out the day child support ended! We spent two years deprogramming him. “Here are my pay stubs. She gets this every week!”

Shit man, am sorry that this happened to you, usually those stories end up in kids seeing the truth and getting disgusted permanently from their mom, so my advice to trying to contact your kids, at least the 18 y old one.

And we must realize this, women are humans, they can be evil just as much as men and maybe more in some experiences, so please just treat both genders as humans and dont listen to disney feminists showing women as those angels, theyre just homo sapiens like us

It’s exactly that - a prison with no bars. Very real prison. They take our money and our children!! The worse thing is that men allowed this to happen! We allowed these women to walk all over us. I love my kids but am not allowed to see them. They get lawyers and courts and police and therapists all involved. They all lie. They all know they lie! They keep lying!

There isn’t a lot you can do as a 2nd class citizen. The best you can do is stay current on child support and never stop seeing your kids. In boot camp my DIs always said the fastest way out is to go through. And that applies here you’ve got a few years left. Don’t quit now. She’s gonna get worse because she feels the pressure of losing your support. Once the kids are gone her free ride is over and she’ll be old and broke. It’s a powerful motivator for her

The child support issue is awful. I am in MA going through a divorce and spent over $90k in legal bills largely litigating child support.

In addition to weaponizing DCF, she faked child care receipts just so she could get the max child support. But she failed, got caught.. and I spent $90k that could have gone towards housing, college or retirement.

I see it differently. Your ex-wife‘s cheating doesn't erase your responsibility as a father. You co-created those children; their upbringing is your obligation. Being a father means providing, whether through your time or your resources. Either you show up and do the work of parenting, or you provide the financial support for those who do. My father gave us everything he had, and now that he’s old, we gladly support him in his old age. Now I’m trying to raise my children with my father’s same level of devotion.
