As everyone else said, you’re the dad. She doesn’t get to dictate terms.

I have a buddy who is contemplating divorce. He told me his wife said he could have the kids on weekends only. And he believed her.

I told him this isn’t true. Fight for 50/50. AND don’t just do what wants you to do.

I believe that for many of us that’s what our marriages have been. Wives telling us what to do. And over time we get conditioned into believing it’s true. It’s not. Be your own man. Fight for what you want.

My ex is from China. Before I filed I had my son’s passports in my hand and then locked in a safe at a relative’s house. Then informed my lawyer.

Your STBX cannot take your child to another country without your permission if you are in the USA.

Um, do you have access to the children’s passports and a safe place to put them? I would talk to a lawyer, but there is no way in hell I would let my (soon-to-be-ex) wife take my kids out of the country. Hide those passports, absorb whatever the consequence of that action is, and keep them in the country.

Once she does that it may be very, very difficult to get them back in any way.

And if she has another citizenship it’s shockingly easy for her to settle with the kids in another country completely out of the jurisdiction of the family court you’re in.

So if you’d like to see your kids again you’d best start making some calls to get an emergency protection order in place or get used to seeing them a few times a year assuming she even stays in contact with you.

You may be able to lose contact with your kids my dude, get in gear.

Where do you live now? Where do they play on moving to? How many children? Where were they born? What citizenship do they hold? Are you agreeing to this? Your post seems to be very passive about a major change.
