This girl (24) offered me (28) to walk along when she was walking her dog, it was nice and I asked her out for a date. I thought it went well, she was a little nervous and seemed to like me. I went for the kiss but was turned down, she said "it's nice hanging with you, but let's take it slow". I just played it cool and she said that she wanted to see me again.

A little confused, I send her a new message asking if she would tag along shopping christmas presents, could need the female input. She seemed to enjoy herself, and I managed for us to end up in her apartment afterwards, "for some tea".

I went for the kiss once again, and she turned me down once more. "I really, really like you, you're handsome, but I don't know you". I said "ok, I don't understand that, but I respect that" and just said farewell.

What I know so far is that she comes from a really strict, controlling family, and is part of a pentecostal church. She has some self-esteem issues, and I suspect maybe some sort of abuse in the past.

What the fuck happened? What to do, if anything?
