Very true, most important keep your mouth shut 99.99% of time, if is not work related you don't open your mouth. I had an experience were for work reason there 4 of us in Detroit (2 male & 2 female), it was freezing cold and a chick pass by wearing literally a nice coat and men underwear, my mistake was to say, "this woman is just looking for attention", the 2 female turn that comment into 1 of her daughter because she like to dress like that, I just said, yoo, I don't even know your family like that I said that of that girl(young woman) that was passing by.

Result same week's Sunday, I got a call from HR saying that I had some old school opinions about females and that was not in line with the company. Lucky for me, I had already quited, but gentlemen, please if consider you peace of mind, 1 stay away from females in the work environment, 2 you cannot avoid it, pay yourself 5 dollars for each minute you don't open your mouth.

Guys, several of these are good things to practice in any work place. My husband works in a predominantly male industry, but a woman was added to his department. He's a friendly guy who tries to make everyone around him feel welcome and at ease. So he shared with her that he is married and told her about our children. After working together for several months without issue. He complimented her on a haircut she got. It wasn't in a sexual way or anything that could be misconstrued as coming on to her. She told him that his comment made her uncomfortable. He told her that he meant no offense and was trying to be nice, but that he would not comment on anything moving forward. He came home feeling defeated. I want to know who is raising these delusional feminist. It is sad that you have to censor yourselves or worry about a vengeful coworker making your life miserable. I wish it wasn't this way. My daughters are in their 20s and neither of them subscribe to the crazy feminist influences around them. I'm proud to have raised independent thinkers. Be careful out there.

Pretty good advice but this should be applied to every workplace that employs any women. Not being critical but I would modify the following rules:

Don’t even get involved in conversations with a woman at work. Just do your work and avoid any small talk.
Don’t go to any event outside of work where there will be women from your work. If you have to then spend the minimum amount of time don’t have any drinks and get out.
Don’t talk about your personal life at all with women at work.

This makes me immediately think of an environment like a feminine jewelry store where only really cute women work at, and then there's that one very feminine gay guy who was allowed to work there. You're basically one of the girls at that point, and so what advice would you have for straight men exactly?

Straight men don't tend to work in environments like this, so there's no real advice here other than keep doing what your doing, which is don't work in environments where you're "one of the girls".

Which you wouldn't because you don't have the same interests as these women do.

I'm down for the cause, but you fuckers are buggin'. I work in a female dominated workplace, have dated someone from work, wasn't a pretty ending to the relationship and was fine. Intially when I joined I had women wanting to eat me alive they were so thirsty....but once they found out I'm mean (IT GUY, half my job is to make rules they don't want to follow) they mostly give me a wide berth.

What I will say is this, this if you don't want to have issues it's quite easy....don't be friendly. Hell you don't have to be mean, just keep to yourself....at first they will try to get to know you/view it as a challenge, but if you genuinely act as if you have no interest in joining their social circle, they will leave you alone and then you'll get labeled as the mean guy. Women have this innate desire to belong and when you don't play into the nice guy game and stand out, they will create narratives about you that spread like wildfire, so you'll never have to worry about sexual harassment if you never initiate it.

On the flip: If you're one of these guys scared of his own shadow, who doesn't have success with women outside of work, you shouldn't even attempt to compliment or try to initiate with a woman at the job. If you haven't succeeded when the stakes are low because you're nervous or awkward or whatever, don't try it when you think you could lose your job.

If you do feel confident asking a woman out at work. One time asking someone out is not grounds to be fired, now it's a risk you're taking, her word vs your own, so maybe it's not one you feel comfortable taking, and that's understandable. But, let's say she's on the up and up, but just isn't interested in dating you, leave it alone after the first no...whatever reason she gives accept it, and leave her the fuck alone forever.
