Spent tens of thousands on counseling, ultimately decided to get the divorce.
Back in February, she and I had agreed because we have 3 kids we should just hash it out. And we did, came up with a very generous agreement that gave her well beyond state minimums for alimony / support. I even agreed to help cover her housing for a bit.
She says “ok my attorney will send you docs”

1 week later i get served with a scorched earth filing, seeking out 20 years of alimony (we’ve been married 8).
Among other things.

Her reasoning? “I want to be taken care of”.

And it’s been stalling after stalling. She kept me from seeing my kids more than 2x a month, claiming she would have her attorney send me a proposed agreement that would be materially better. Saw it today, it’s not.

During our marriage, she refused to let me in on her finances, stating her credit cards are under control and she’s a responsible adult bla bla and that I would never Be on the hook for them. Today found out she’s 65K in debt and trying to dump it all on me.

My attorney’s timeline for when this case would end has just been getting longer and longer.

I thought I’d be done last February. Then it got pushed to this summer. I get the feeling even that will get pushed back too with the glacial pace this thing is proceeding.

I am just amazed at how greedy my ex is. And this shit is expensive. Tough way to learn I should’ve listened to my gut those years ago
