Hello all, I feel as though this subreddit is quite male focused but I'm a girl 💁‍♀️. So I (23F) live in Toronto and I feel as though there isnt much of a culture of asking women out, at least within my age group or maybe I'm just not attractive enough idk. That being said, I want to take matters into my own hands and ask random men I find attractive in passing. I feel like I have a very niche type of man that I'm attracted to if personality isn't involved and I usually only see this type of man in passing. So I want to ask said man for his number if I pass by him. I'm not the conventional standard of beauty, I've been told by male friends that I'm cute, I also put a LOT of effort into how I look and usually when I befriend men they end up liking me, but I suppose it's different when it's a stranger. I'm also Indian and there's a lot of anti Indian sentiment in Canada, so I'm a bit apprehensive about approaching men. I also understand that this is a numbers game, and I have to ask many men out to get somewhere. What I want to know is:

  1. How do I work up the courage to ask a guy out, I freeze and become really awkward when I have to interact with a guy that 's cute
  2. What do I say?
  3. How do I work up the courage to shoot my shot at men I think are out of my league without feeling like complete shit?
