Thanks, I'll have a look. Wanted some male opinions on this for now though.

Is it possible to get those feelings back for him?

only if he changes

[–]TheBrownChrisBrown 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good luck with that one.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

If the roles were reversed, I think the general consensus here would be to next the person and find someone who meets your needs better, in the interest of not wasting time.

In the interest of at least trying to salvage things, however, you could let it be known that you are getting fed up and are about ready to move on, a little thing they call dread game around here. But I don't really know if that applies to your situation, where the person is already crawling up your butthole.

But, honestly, I don't think you're going to be able to change this guy. You could try the whole sit-down and talk thing, but it sounds like he needs to work on his own self. Maybe the thought of losing you could be a big motivating factor, but then I'm sure deep down you'd feel like he would only be doing it to please you, thus making it a sort of subservient action and not truly a solid alpha trait.

Then again, maybe it could be something to work through together. Only you can weigh the pros and cons of leaving vs trying to iron out the creases.

You are probably better off asking the fine ladies over in /r/redpillwomen about it, like someone else pointed out.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, he does everything to please me. Even improve himself. You would think women want that but nope, nope I don't.

I think the insecurity started decades before me and isn't going anywhere soon.

Thanks for your thoughts. Good stuff.

[–]TRP VanguardCyralea 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You sound like you've already answered your question. You need a man that's secure and strong. Someone who isn't a typical nice guy.

You won't ever be attracted to your boyfriend, hate to say it. You can either accept that this is how it will always be and hold out and stay with him, or you can move on. Can't recommend one for you.

For what it's worth, a lot of the men here were driven to change precisely because we failed with making a relationship work.

[–]648262 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You would think women want that but nope, nope I don't.

We don't think that. It sounds childish, but we/I think you, women in general, want someone who is a bit more stable than you and sets the framework of the relationship. At least more than what you have told of your current situation.

RP can save your relationship but it was the wrong person in the relationship that found this sub. Selling the theory to someone is difficult. That is my experience at least. At best you can better define what you seek in a man. Use the hypergamy well.

[–]riverraider69 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

a little thing they call dread game around here

God, no. It will have the opposite effect on him. He'd be willing to do anything for her if just she'd stay.

[–]frequentlywrong -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

But, honestly, I don't think you're going to be able to change this guy.

I think if she encouraged him to read the right material and told him she agrees with it, he would probably be willing to put in the effort. Most people are afraid of what would happen to them and their relationships.

Just look at 2pac. The guy was so beta he was practically gay and made a RP transformation.

Of course it all depends if she can stand him for long enough.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I can just imagine the guy being like "oh please baby dont leave I'll be red pill if you want me to"

... which is even more unattractive, wanting to change only to please her.

It's a catch-22. If he can't learn how to be a man on his own, he won't learn it. Her trying to prod him into it is only going to kill what little respect she still has for him.

[–]frequentlywrong 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Some people just need a nudge in the right direction. We don't know if he is one of those. Maybe he can improve, maybe not. I did say a lot of it depends if she can stand him for long enough. If the guy is hopeless then there is nothing she can do.

[–]UnderwearStain 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe . I always go back to the surprise party post tho with this type of stuff. If she's got to show him what to do and how to do it her tingles stay dead. It's not spontaneous.

But I guess there's something about having to ask a man to wash his hands/not leave boogers in the shower/clean the wax clumps in his ears, etc that just killed my sex drive. I dont think it's coming back.

It works the other way around. If you're sexually attracted to someone it automatically inhibits any disgust you may feel. Kissing means tasting saliva, after all.

Which also explains why lots of fetishes are possible.

And to address your original question: it won't work if you have to change him piecemeal. You can't tell him to do this or that - he will, but it still won't work for you. What you can do is have conversations on the general topic (fewer the better), and send him to look for and make the changes by himself. Here, for example.

Up to a point it works. I've had a girl repeatedly tell me she wants me to be more dominant in bed and I was, somewhat, with happy effects. Unfortunately not until I internalized RP and realized it makes sense and why I didn't have the motivation go farther.

Ouch. Honey, one of the tenets we learn here is that you can't negotiate desire. Weigh his provisioning/commitment against how unattractive his behavior is (which I am certain you already have) and make your decision. This guy is fucked, lol. Sorry. Actually one thing you didn't mention is kids. If you have them, you already fucked up because if you leave him it will fyck with their lives. Your happiness is fuckall if you have kids. Your only recourse is to SHOW him TRP and hope.

Why don't you try being submissive to him?? Make him feel manly, it'll be rough but he will come around. this is my opinion I put up a topic in the female sub...because I think they deal with this sort of thing. But i believe there more about improving themselves for there partner and not the other way around.

[–]totorox -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yes your bf might learn not to be such a beta one day, but it's very unlikely that he will go through the throes of change while remaining in a relationship with you

ego-loss is so much needed for transformation

[–]Senior Contributorexit_sandman 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

oney, one of the tenets we learn here is that you can't negotiate desire.

This.

"This is why the “communication is everything” meme has been responsible for the demise of more relationships than anyone will ever admit. It’s not that you communicate, it’s what you’re communicating and how you communicate it. I’ve counseled more men than I care to recount who’ve sobbed from the depths of their souls, “IF SHE’D JUST TELL ME WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO MAKE HER LOVE ME I’D DO IT!” not realizing that their very verbalization of that and a belief in open, rational communication is the very thing that’s killing (or killed) their woman’s desire for him.

As I’ve written a thousand times, a cardinal truth of the universe is that genuine desire cannot be negotiated. The moment you tell your wife, your girlfriend, that you will exchange a behavior or attitude or belief or any other compromise for her desire you fundamentally change her organic desire into obligation. What she wants, what her hypergamy wants confirmation of, can never be explicated, it can only be demonstrated. If her desire is for you to be more dominant, her telling you to be so negates the genuineness and the validity of your becoming so."

(from http://therationalmale.com/2012/08/22/just-get-it/ )

[+]NrwhlBcnSmrt-ttck -8 points-7 points-6 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Oh p.s... if you are 32 I would just settle because you are never going to attract commitment from the men you desire at this age. Maybe you vould look for a richer beta, but no alpha is going to commit to a postwaller unless they're nearing 60 themselves.

[–]Sufferix -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He doesn't deserve shit. If a woman is knowingly settling for you and you are not cognizant nor do you mind, that's your fucking fault.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Eh you can't say that. There are women who are 32 and look like 40 year old soccer moms. Then there are 32 year old women who are absolute knockouts.

Can't always judge by that.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Haha...nah. I'm not interested in settling.

[–]frequentlywrong 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd like to know your interpretation of what happened in my relationship for my feelings to shift.

Something sparked attraction between you two at the beginning. It blinded you of his deep seeded insecurities long enough to fire up feelings. Once you started seeing him regularly, those insecurities were not possible to hide and blazed out in the open.

There is a thread about RP books at the top. "No more mister nice guy" is right for him. So is "rational male" (which is mentioned in the comments) and "married man sex life".

There is also the beige phillip podcast. Listen to the first few episodes together, where they establish the beige phillip rules. They are pure truth.

Your lost attraction for him is 100% his fault. Because he is an insecure beta guy, you are not attracted. You can't help your nature that his insecurity is unattractive, but you can help him get over it. Buy him at least the first two books I have mentioned. Or you can direct him to this subreddit.

He needs to be willing to change. If you encourage him he probably will.

[–]dropit_reborn 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Hey, you're pretty awesome for asking this.

I think you're asking the right question:

And, in your opinion, once a woman's lost some respect for her man, can that respect ever come back?

Certainly. Women are people, and people instinctively respect the respectable.

And, you know, therein lies the rub.

The bad news is, you can't fix the situation yourself. You can treat someone well, but attraction is not a choice. He's the only one who can make himself more attractive. Worse, his progress would only be hindered by your "helping" (interestingly, this is not true if you reverse the genders).

What you can do is reward good things, and be vocal about them. When he does something you admire, or like, etc., say so. He is obviously smitten by you (yes, I know, that's not necessarily a good thing, but for this purpose it is), and he'll notice and remember if you point something out.

Unfortunately, TRP cannot save or fix your relationship. Only the people in the relationship can do that.

Aside from the relationship, I would recommend reading all you can here and at /r/redpillwomen. This is a community that prides itself on realism, even it misses the mark sometimes. You might learn something about your boyfriend or yourself, and that's never time wasted.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Thanks so much. It is tricky. He would jump through hoops for me, which is awesome in some ways...but he takes that desire to please me down to such depths that it feels shaky and shallow. It's weird because I always thought "nice guys" were the way to go until my whole bottom half went on strike.

[–]dropit_reborn 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's weird because I always thought "nice guys" were the way to go until my whole bottom half went on strike.

They are, but nice is not enough. What you're looking for is someone "wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

Show him TRP (find an article that speaks to your situation and just send him that at first).

I think you're on the right track. Best of luck.

[–]Mr-charming2 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

We don't want women in our ranks so take this to the red pill women, also never ask for dating advice from anywhere else on reddit except the red pill subs, all the advice your are given elsewhere is PC (politically correct) garbage and usually centered around the woman which wont help you at all as it reinforces a "All about you" mentality.

Men of redpill can't offer adequate advice to help you because we're not women and we spend our time here focusing on mens issues, we only understand how to make the relationship work on our end.

With that being said, by the sounds of it he's every bit of what you don't want (you want a dominating man) so you need to move on, you can't tell a man to be alpha or any of the traits that an alpha may posses, he has to come across it on his own and accept that this is what he wants to embody.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]elchoma90 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dress slutty and ask him to dominate you sexually. Be a good girl and make sure he likes it. Maybe after a couple times he'll take the hint and start being more dominant in the relationship. If not at least you gave the poor bastard a great goodbye fuck.

[–]Sufferix 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think you should show him this post and let him browse this subreddit. He'll inevitably ask you questions about this post and probably about the implications of the things said in this subreddit. If he accepts it quickly and makes a change, good, maybe shit'll work out. If he objects to the findings here, then he is beyond hope and just next him.

[–]TVTestPattern 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Sufferix 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, she's trying to save a relationship with a BP faggot. She's probably the closest thing to a unicorn you will ever fucking see.

The issue here is that she doesn't need to change (not like we would expect her the capability to), however he needs to see TRP. He needs to get the reality check that he is unattractive and all that shit about being nice and dependent is bullshit.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you. I know I'm not perfect. But that's not what I was asking for advice about.

It's turned into a child/parent dynamic. When I talk to him about it, he pouts! I just want to feel sexy again, to feel like I can depend on my partner.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

A relationship is never about one person. I feel you may be projecting your personal experience here.

To be fair to my bf, who is not the one posting here, is happy with the way things are and just wants more sex and to hurry up and get married.

I don't feel I should marry him if I am not ready, so things shift a bit to my perspective. If he had posted instead, I'm sure the original post would have been more "all about him."

Men and women are different.

Women NEED an alpha, dominant man who doesn't always grovel at their feet. Her boyfriend is the opposite of this. Therefore she is loosing attraction for him. That's not HER fault. It's just the way it is.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's not even just that. It's his whole being. His whole life is dependant on what I think. It feels really unhealthy and smothering.

[–]Endorsed ContributorWe_Are_Legion 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fair enough. One of the basics of game is to never let a woman feel like there is expectation on her to enjoy things. That pressure ruins it. A certain amount of selfishness is essential.

I would recommend getting a father-figure or brother or some other masculine influence to spend a little time with him. A lot of guys want to emulate someone they look up to, so if given the right role-model they will try and improve themselves. I think once he gets exterior motivation and tries to build character he won't be as clingy have his life revolve around you.

[–]NoFatChicks88 -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am sorry to hear about the problems in your relationship. To be honest I see this happen a lot. Have you tried letting your man know that he needs to have more initiative? Let him know that you like a man who takes charge. As someone else said, it would be a lot easier if it was him asking for advice instead of you.

Hope things work out.

[–]smokingmonkey420 -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

once a woman's lost some respect for her man, can that respect ever come back?

Yes but HE must make them come back. Those original feelings of attraction and respect did not appear by magic. He created them. He can create them again and it is actually easier the second time around if the woman is willing to wait it out and support the changes.

However, your problem is the necessary changes your boyfriend needs to make are not all to your benefit. Many are- get in shape, lift weights, take charge, be the man, take care of business, improve yourself. However, your BF also needs to arm up with Pick up artist knowledge, start acting confident, cocky/funny, and start using hard Dread on this cold fish GF of his. Admit it: If your BF started lifting weights and got noticeably bigger, and suddenly become more social and started talking and charming hot girls right in front of you those old feelings would come right back wouldn't they?

Edit: Read the rest of the thread: Sorry to say but this guy just might be hopeless. These examples you give are beyond cringe worthy. I was going to suggest he read Athol Kay's Managed Attraction plan but see he already did. If I were you I would review the parts about disengaging from your vampire and move through the 7 steps as he directs with the goal of your man becoming a man again...or else. Whiny bitch says pick out my shirt for me cuz I want to look nice for you? WTF!

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Certainly, you can get back your feelings for him again. Paradoxically, that would be if he distances himself from you a bit. At the very least, "He tells me I am beautiful multiple times a day", yeah, that shit has to stop. He needs to do at least 20 pushups a day till the testosterone is flowing normally again. This sounds super cliched if you're an intellectual; it works in real life.
