(Personal experience post)

In the Anglosphere and presumably other cultures there is this notion that boys are more difficult to raise, and more likely to get into trouble with school / the law ect. I did struggle with executive function issues, may have had ADD but was never really 'hyper' disturbing people. I kept my place relatively clean / organized. but struggled with keeping all my school work organized, managing work from 6 classes recalling due dates not cramming ect and being on time often. I just remember being constantly punished for these mistakes and just screamed at. I was sent to one of those wilderness 'behavior' camps when I almost failed a math course.

Seems like the common narrative is that women are mature at a younger age, as they are socialized in that manner, but it seemed to me that girls love to engage in the busy work of highlighting everything in their agenda and having the 'prettiest' notebooks without really studying much of the course content when I was younger.

I started to prefer being left alone more than being around other people after that. I develop better organizational methods myself as I got older and more self aware about my issues. I liked studying in my room alone, developed my interests and skills. Left home and in some ways my life become more peaceful with less familial nonsense.

While anecdotal it seems that girls are given the benefit of the doubt more frequently, and have their issues 'understood' instead of outright reprimanded. I guess this is nothing more than 'gamma bias' at a young age, but do you think there is any merit to the idea that most women are 'better' behaved at younger ages? I noticed that I was often singled out for similar behaviors that my sister also showed growing up, and punishment was also given much more liberally for things that would have been outright ignored by parents or teachers if I was a girl.
