It's badly written and makes no sense. Shes going to be confused by the "rumour" bit, then even more confused by the clumsy wording on the "do good choices" bit. Do you mean "make good decisions"? She'll prob understand that youre trying to ask her dinner when you start talking about sushi.

But frankly the whole thing is so badly written you're almost certainly going to get a "hey what do you mean?" type reply, so you'll be starting off having to explain your line, which is awkward.

Either that or she'll just brush you off by saying shes really busy rn and maybe another time, or that she doesnt like either.

It's not bad at all dude.. you put yourself out there and went for it with balls. Good on you. The text itself is fine, even hints at a playful vibe which I really like. I might have approached it with one other thing in mind though... Idk if you were texting her before this msg or if this is the first text. If it's the latter, I would have hit her with a hook or two first to get her responding. I also do this when a lead has gone cold, even if it was previously hot. The idea is to not blast her with a first text that demands something from her. I prefer to first get her responding, ideally laughing and spike her emotional "temperature" and THEN hit her with the date plan as that vibe peaks.

I t didn’t matter what you said. She began to shut the door with not being impressed by either choice and slammed it shut with “I have a boyfriend”—proving once again asking for, an getting an IG is often a weak strategy utilized by guys who, for whatever reason, cannot ask for what they want up front. Had you asked her out at the party you would have known where you stood immediately.

The whole thing is pretty cringe ngl but not a big deal. First off, no need for cheesy lines "I want to know if the rumor is true...I heard you do good choices", what does this even mean? What rumor? And who's saying this? And "hypothetically speaking", are you asking her out or not? These are the kind of lines that you read back a year later and cringe at. Just be straight forward, no need for random pick up lines.

In addition, you're definitely better off trying to secure the date when you see her in person. I've tried it your way of getting the IG or whatever and then reaching out the next day to try and set something up. In most cases (unless if she was already interested), it's a rejection. And if she was already interested, I should have caught on that and asked her out in person. Better to be able to gauge then than to have to go through text and deal with the anxiety of either getting rejected or just flat out getting ghosted, while leaving a digital footprint.

Lastly, everything you said in response was just unnecessary.

I actually like it overall. It has personality, it's playful, and you gave her two easy options instead of making her plan the date.

The only part I would've removed was "Hypothetically speaking." It feels like you're taking back the confidence you built in the first three sentences. If you're asking, own the ask.

Dude, don’t compress all ideas into 1 text. That alone can be broken down to at least 3 texts back and forth each.

~ I wanna know if the rumor about you is true (it’s kinda a bait for her to react, wait for her to reply, this is good to see her reciprocity level).

~ If she said “what rumor?”, then say “I heard you do good choices”. If she doesn’t reply anything then there’s your indicator.

~ At this point she could reply with any answer. If she said “it depends” or “what do you have in mind?” which is a good thing, then you could bring up about sushi or brunch.
